The present study was carried out to investigate the influence of moisture on surface energy balance component (LE) and canopy temperature (CT) over potato field during 2014-15 and 2015-16 growing season .With the help of micromet tower observation were taken hourly basis on temperature, net radiation, and wind speed at seven days interval, covering different growth stages. Sunburn injury is common on fruits in due to high solar radiation levels and air temperatures, low relative humidity, and high elevations. The incidence and severity of sunburn depends upon climatic factor, cultivars, hormonal, nutritional and soil moisture. A study was conducted at Wheat Breeding section, RPCAU, Pusa, Samastipur, Bihar during rabi 2016-17 to evaluate the genotypes of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) for terminal heat tolerance. Observations were recorded on plant height, number of tillers per plant, flag leaf area, days to fifty per cent flowering, canopy temperature, relative water content, spike length, number of grains per spike, spike fertility, chlorophyll content, days to maturity, thousand grain weight, harvest index, yield per plant, thousand grain weight susceptibility index and heat susceptibility index.

A wheat growth model that includes the direct responses of canopy photosynthesis and transpiration to elevated CO2, and the response of crop growth to water stress has been developed and tested. Sensitivity analyses show that different cultivars have quite different responses to changes in ambient air temperature, ambient CO2 concentration and rainfall. Because crops reach maturity earlier under higher temperature, an increase of 3 oC may not impose further water stress to growth of a wheat crop.

The present study was conducted to determine genotypic variations for normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and canopy temperature (CT) in wheat under terminal heat and combined heat and drought stresses. Forty-four wheat genotypes were evaluated under late sown with irrigation (heat stress) and without irrigation (combined heat and drought stress) in an environment with average temperatures of 28.6°C during the growing season and 30.62°C during the grain filling stage.

Chickpea is a cool season pulse and suffers severe yield losses when exposed to higher temperatures during reproductive phase. Stable chickpea production will depend on the release of new cultivars with improved adaptation to drought and high temperature. Twenty five breeding lines of two crosses JG 11 x JG 14 and JAKI 9218 x JG 14 were assessed under timely and late sown situations. High variability was observed for majority of the traits in both the seasons.
