This paper presents a state-of-the-art review of the physical and mechanical properties of N-FRCM composite. This study aims to develop an HPFRM with low polypropylene fiber content by using locally available ingredients in Southern Vietnam to address the deficiencies commonly observed in traditional cement grout mortars. Three mixture proportions were prepared with different water-to-binder (w/b) ratios of 0.2, 0.25, and 0.3. Then, the performance of HPFRM was evaluated in both fresh and hardened stages.

In this study, the effect of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) content, i.e. from 2 to 6% by vol. of concrete, on the flexural behavior of ECC with a desired compressive strength of over 60 MPa, in which fly ash and silica fume were selected as supplementary cementitious materials. The experimental results show that the addition of PVA fiber gives little influence on compressive strength but can significantly affect the flexural behavior of ECC.

This paper presents the experimental characterization and analytical modeling for fire performance of carbon TRC under the thermomechanical regime at constant tensile force. The carbon TRC is manufactured from the cementitious matrix with good thermal properties (refractory matrix) and the reinforcement of carbon textiles.

The study of the mechanical behavior of sand concrete mixed with polypropylene (PP) fibers shows that with the incorporation of (PP) fibers into the cementitious matrix, there is some improvement in the ductile behavior of the composite. In our study we tested the composite with different dosages of polypropylene (0.05%, 0.1%, 0.3% and 0.5%).

The main goal of the present work is to study the mechanical response of glass/epoxy composites when exposed to cement and geopolymer (metakaolin) mortars, as it happens in Civil Engineering applications. For this purpose, specimens were embedded into mortar followed by a period of curing, which was done under the air laboratory environment. For cement, curing was also performed inside a container filled with water. The specimens were removed from the mortars after 30, 60 or 90 days of curing and then tested.

Polymer cement mortar (PCM) is a widely used cementitious repairing material due to its considerable adhesive property with concrete. However, the polymers are sensitive to elevated temperatures. The behaviours of polymers and PCM at elevated temperatures (e.g., 60 °C) for short, moderate duration and cyclic conditions remain unknown and need to be explored. This work was aimed at studying the mechanical performance of PCM and PCM-concrete composites under the aforementioned exposure conditions.

The high temperatures of fires affect the physical and chemical properties of the concrete and thus influence its mechanical properties. This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation on the compressive strength at high temperatures of high-strength fibre concretes. The influence of the high temperatures on the physical and chemical changes of the concrete was also analysed by Thermo Gravimetric Analysis/Differential Thermal Analysis (TGA/DTA), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (SEM/EDS).

In the present study, the synergic effects of cementitious materials in the ternary binder containing cement, silica fume, fly ash on the workability and compressive strength were evaluated by using the D-optimal design of Design-Expert 7. The ternary binder composed of 65 vol.-% cement, 15 vol.-% SF and 20 vol.-% FA at the W/Fv ratio of 0.50 is the optimum mixture proportions for the highest compressive strength of the UHPC.
