Group A streptococcus infection during pregnancy can be concerning. It may cause toxic shock syndrome, which can be fatal. Here, we report a rare case of a pregnant woman who developed infectious sacroiliitis due to group A streptococcus infection. To the best of our knowledge, this case is the frst of its kind to be reported.

Peptic ulcer disease with its complications in recent centuries has become a disease of global burden associated with high morbidity and mortality. There are several risk factors that have been implicated. These include Helicobacter pylori infection, regular use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), smoking, alcohol use, steroid use, male gender and low socioeconomic status. The ulcer can be either acute or chronic.

The final histology showed isolated bladder endometriosis. She had a significant past medical history of two previous Cesarean sections. A review of her magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images demonstrated the presence of a Cesarean scar niche which may be linked to her bladder endometriosis. There is a need to improve awareness of the possible link between Cesarean scar niche with bladder endometriosis.

Hemophilia is a risk for severe hemorrhage in newborns during the perinatal period and excessive postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in hemophilia carriers. Vacuum extraction or use of forceps should be avoided to prevent neonatal intracranial hemorrhage (ICH).

This case describes an uncommon occurrence of cervical stenosis presenting in labor and seeks to increase awareness of this condition so as to allow preemptive counselling of similar patients, early recognition in a labor with poor progress and a swift, better-informed decision to deliver via an emergency cesarean section. We review the existing literature on cervical stenosis following cervical conization and analyze the various definitions available.

Preterm premature rupture of membranes is defined as rupture of membranes before the onset of labor with the gestational age < 37 weeks. Preterm premature rupture of membranes is associated with 10% of the perinatal mortality, particularly associated with respiratory distress syndrome and neonatal infection. The study aims to assess the outcome of maternal and fetal outcome in preterm premature rupture of membranes.

Severe laryngeal edema during pregnancy is uncommon but can be encountered, particularly in patients with preeclampsia accompanied by other comorbidities. Careful consideration must be given to balance the urgency of securing the airway with the safety of the fetus and the patient’s long-term health consequences.

The false-positive rate of electronic fetal monitoring to predict adverse outcomes is high. Therefore, the study of fetal heart rate charts to confirm the diagnosis of fetal compromise is very necessary to limit cases of unreasonable cesarean section. Therefore, we conduct this study to: (1) Survey the characteristics of electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) to diagnose fetal compromise. (2) Find out the association between EFM and obstetrical outcomes.

To evaluate the efficacy of intravenous phenylephrine for the control of spinal anesthesia induced intra- operative hypotension in C- section and its side effects. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 322 women with indications of spinal anesthesia for C- section received IV phenylephrine (50-100 µg) titrated to maintain maternal systolic BP at near-baseline values

Dwarfism is characterized by short stature. Pregnancy in women with dwarfism is uncommon and cesarean section is generally indicated for delivery. Patients with dwarfism are high-risk population for both general and regional anesthesia, let alone in an emergency surgery.

General and regional anesthesia are the two main techniques used in cesarean section. Regional anesthesia is preferred, but under certain circumstances, such as by patient request and in patients with back deformities, general anesthesia is the only option.

Left uterine displacement (LUD) has been questioned as an effective strategy to prevent aortocaval compression after spinal anesthesia (SA) for cesarean delivery (CD). We tested if LUD has a significant impact on cardiac output (CO) in patients undergoing CD under SA during continuous non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring with Clearsight.

Abrupt bradycardia and hemodynamic instability during spinal anesthesia for cesarean section are not uncommon and are considered as one of the primary causes of intraoperative nausea and vomiting (IONV). We hypothesized that prophylactic use of hyoscine butyl-bromide (HBB) could improve hemodynamics and reduce IONV in parturients undergoing cesarean section.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a common complication of cesarean section. S-ketamine given intravenously during surgery can help prevent PPD. However, whether S-ketamine in patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) can reduce the incidence of PPD is unknown.

To study the incidence and risk factors of shivering in pregnant women during cesarean section. Methods: We performed a prospective nested case-control study involving parturients scheduled for cesarean sections between July 2018 and May 2021. The overall incidence of intraoperative shivering and its potential risk factors were investigated.

Compared with singleton pregnancy, twin gestation is featured by a greater increase in cardiac output. Therefore, norepinephrine might be more suitable than phenylephrine for maintaining blood pressure during cesarean section for twins, as phenylephrine causes reflex bradycardia and a resultant decrease in cardiac output.
