  • The aim of this research is to employ a sensitivity study for the total thrust of a ducted twin counter-rotating propeller system design for UAV applications using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Two factors were investigated: propeller spacing and difference between blades pitch angle. Using discrete values for both factors, 32 designs were analysed and evaluated. The same approach was also used for an equivalent unducted propeller system to access the influence of the duct.

  • Glucose oxidase was covalently immobilized to a porous electrode, which was developed by using ferrocene functionalized polyethyleneimine, multiwall carbon nanotubes, and carbon cloth for biofuel cell applications in our recent studies. The kinetics parameters (i.e. kM, Vmax) and other parameters required for the modeling study were determined experimentally. Fuel cell flow channel geometry was analyzed by a computational fluid dynamics modeling approach. Substrate flow rate and mass transfer for each proposed channel type were considered in the simulations.

  • The present work involves computational fluid dynamics (CFD) study of dust particle removal efficiency of a venturi scrubber operating in self-priming mode using ANSYS CFX. Titanium oxide (TiO2) particles having sizes of 1 micron have been taken as dust particles. CFD methodology to simulate the venturi scrubber has been first developed. The cascade atomization and breakup (CAB) model has been used to predict deformation of water droplets, whereas the Eulerian eLagrangian approach has been used to handle multiphase flow involving air, dust, and water.
