  • To address this issue, in this study, the authors have put forth a novel set of parameters that can be used to evaluate the reduction in stiffness of spans over time. The stiffness is a critical factor that determines its structural integrity, and it is essential to monitor any changes in this parameter over the lifespan of the bridge.

  • The results showed that the growth rate of corals will return to normal after 4 months rehabilitation. The factors affected the effective coral rehabilitation including: Coral reef predators, spatial competition among species, environmental conditions change due to human‟s activities; and other factors such as hydrodynamic regimes, cutting fragment corals cause its injury damage.

  • This leads to a large number of false alarms if the detection method cannot isolate the various impacts due to changing environmental conditions or damage. To address this issue, there are many methods that are proposed to detect the damage of bridges under environmental temperature changes. In this paper, some machine learning methods that eliminates the effect of temperature on the damage detection are explored.

  • This project proposes two new methods of deep neural networks and handcrafted features for damage detection. The first method uses a convolution neural network (CNN) to extract deep features in time series and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) network to find a statistically significant correlation of each lagged feature in time series data.

  • The variability in their population and damage can be related to changes in the ambient environment. With a view on the climate change projections for India, an attempt has been made here to study the impact of the likely changes in abiotic component in relation to BSFB and Hadda beetle in brinjal crop under Allahabad agroclimatic conditions.

  • Weather is the major threats for wheat production in South East Asia region and highly influenced by the environmental conditions, sowing date, nature of genotypes and growth stages of wheat. Climate change is a serious concern for the food security and lively hood of small farmers as reported from all over world. A period of 30 years is decided as a period of climate change study by World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).So the period from 1985-2016 is taken for the study.

  • Collar rot disease caused by Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. is one of the most important disease of sunflower in India. In the changing climate, this disease in sunflower has been recognized as a major threat in causing more economic loss than before. Environmental parameters such as relative humidity, temperature, bright sunshine hours and rainfall have been shown to influence infection and subsequent damage caused by S. rolfsii. Keeping this in view, experiment on epidemiology of collar rot of sunflower (Helianthus annus L.) caused by Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc.

  • A field experiment was conducted to study the response of antioxidant enzymes to oxidative damage caused by heat stress induced by changing dates of transplanting in two rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes viz., ‘N22’ (heat tolerant) and ‘IR8’ (heat susceptible). During grain filling period, constitutive level of antioxidative enzymes viz., superoxide dismutase, catalase, ascorbate peroxidase, was found to be 35.7, 88.8 and 84.1% higher respectively, while the content of non-enzymatic antioxidants viz., ascorbate and proline was 78.5 and 81.

  • Nam Dinh province is located in the Red river delta with a relatively flat terrain. The North East of Nam Dinh is bordered by the Red river and the southwest by the Day river and has a coastline of approximately 80 km. Given the geographical location, Nam Dinh has favourable conditions for agricultural and aquaculture production. Climate change creates a large number of potential risks for Nam Dinh. This includes sea level rise, typhoons, flood tide, etc.

  • Reinforced concrete structures are damaged by salt attack, concrete carbonation, and sulfate attack, etc. The expansion stress by the corrosion of reinforcing steel causes crack in the cover concrete. Patch repair method is commonly applied to deteriorated RC structures. Deterioration mechanism of a patch-repair method in reinforced concrete is investigated through the experiment and analysis. The repair material selected is polymer-modified cement mortar re-emulsified by polymer resin.

  • Analysis carried out in the city case studies show that sound urban environmental management is also good for climate adaptation. As the Bangkok study shows, land subsidence, if not arrested, would contribute a greater share of damage costs from floods than a projected change in climate conditions. Thus, addressing land subsidence and factors con- tributing to it is important from the perspective of urban adaptation.
