In this paper, the type of obstacle micro mixer model was designed and investigated by numerical simulation to improve the mixing efficiency. Passive mixers with tail-added obstacles structures were studied and compared with other conventional T microstructures, and then their mixing performance was numerically evaluated.

This paper investigates the system performance of hybrid time-power switching based relaying (TPSR) energy harvesting enabled in the multisource half-duplex relaying network over the Rayleigh fading channel. The outage probability (OP) of the proposed system model with implementing maximal ratio combining (MRC) and selection combination (SC) technique at the receiver is presented and analyzed.

The main objectives of this study are: To provide an end-to-end channel model which is capable of supporting the dynamics of 5G networks based on Amplify-and-Forward UAV relays in the mmWawe band; to determine the optimum Amplify-and-Forward UAV relay height for coverage maximization in randomly distributed users scenarios; to compare the performance of the direct path (between the gNB and UE) with respect to the relay path (between the gNB and UE via UAV).

The thesis is structured as follows: In Chapter 1, the scientific literature is summarized within the scope of this study. Chapter 2 provides a comprehensive overview of the principles of the applied computational approaches in this study. Chapter 3 identifies the important residues of the LsIA/α7 nAChR complex that affect the interactions between the toxin and the membrane protein due to C-terminal carboxylation of LsIA. The effects of C-terminal modification of LsIA on interactions with α3β2 nAChR, involved in cardiovascular diseases, were also investigated in Chapter 4.

This paper presents a Bayesian approach based on integral experiments to create correlations which do not appear with differential data. Some quantities such as the fission cross section (s), neutron multiplicity (n¯p), neutron spectra (x), etc. are usually neither modeled together nor measured in coincidence, thus there is no correlation matrices in evaluated nuclear data libraries.

Aims to tackle the real-world recordings with challenging settings as mentioned earlier, we have proposed novel separation algorithms for both single-channel and multi-channel cases. The achieved results have been described in seven publications. The results of our algorithms were also submitted to the international source separation campaign SiSEC 20164 [81] and obtained the best performance in terms of energybased criteria.

NFκB plays an important role in the immune system in all organisms. In this study, physicochemical properties and modelling of finfish NFκBIα protein was analysed using in silico approach. Finfish species: guppy (Poecilia reticulate), Bicolor damselfish (Stegastes partitus), Channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus), Coelacanth (Latimeria chalumnae), and Australian ghostshark (Callorhinchus milii) were used in this study.

This review provides a comparative overview of recent developments in the modelling of cellular calcium oscilla-tions. A large variety of mathematical models have been developed for this wide-spread phenomenon in intra- and intercellular signalling. From these, a general model is extracted that involves six types of concentration variables: inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3), cytoplasmic, endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondrial calcium, the occupied binding sites of calcium buffers, and the fraction of active IP3 receptor calciumrelease channels....

Metabolite channelling, the process in which consecutive enzymes have confined substrate transfer in metabolic pathways, has been proposed as a biochemical mechanism that has evolved because it enhances catalytic rates and protects unstable intermediates. Results from experiments on the synthesis of radioactive urea [Cheung, C., Cohen, N.S. & Raijman, L (1989)J. Biol. Chem.264, 4038–4044] have been interpreted as implying channelling of arginine between argininosuccinate lyase and arginase in permeabi-lized hepatocytes. ...

A novel cytochrome P450, CYP4x1, was identified in EST databases on the basis of similarity to a conserved region in the C-helix of the CYP4A family. The human and mouse CYP4x1 cDNAs were cloned and found to encode putative cytochrome P450 proteins. Molecular modelling of CYP4x1 predicted an unusual substrate binding channel for the CYP4 fam-ily.

Increases in intracellular [Ca 2+ ] occur synchronously between cells in the neuroepithelium. If neuroepithelial cells were capable of generating action potentials synchronized by gap junctions (direct current electrical coupling), the influx of Ca 2+ through voltage-activated Ca 2+ channels would lead to a synchronous increase in intracellular [Ca 2+ ].
