In this research, a single-step polymeric novel particle was synthesized from oak bark extract by nanoemulsion polymerization technique for the first time in the literature. It has been shown that the synthesized particles are achieved without losing any antioxidant and antibacterial properties of the oak bark extract. In this study, the p(OB) particles were reported for the first time and were characterized in terms of antioxidant, blood compatible, H2O2 scavenging, antibacterial, and antifungal potential to evaluate their use in biocompatible materials with drug release system potential.

In the present study, Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized from Salvia officinalis and Thymus vulgaris, known as phytotherapy plants. The obtained silver nanoparticles were characterized using SEM, XRD, FTIR, and UV/Vis spectra. The antioxidant capacities of Salvia officinalis-mediated AgNP (SO-AgNP) and Thymus vulgaris-mediated AgNP (TV-AgNP) were analyzed in vitro using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and iron chelating activity assays.

The characterization of the biological properties of Chilean polyfloral honey was centered on their antioxidant and antibacterial activities. For this purpose, a significant number of samples were selected to evaluate their biological properties. Additionally, the identification of honey constituents was carried out using a complementary mass spectrometry technique (GC–MS), which allowed to find some 25 different compounds in the analyzed honey.

A high density lipoprotein (HDL)-linked enzyme with antioxidant and antiatherogenic properties, paraoxonase1(PON1), prevents the formation of atherosclerotic lesions in humans. In the present study, a recombinant hPON1 gene was produced using a small ubiquitin-related modifier (SUMO) fusion protein expression system. To that end, the hPON1 gene was amplified from human liver-ready cDNA, cloned into the expression vector pET SUMO, and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3).

As a starting material, 7-tert-butyldibenzo [b,e] [1,4] dioxine-2,3-dicarbonitrile was prepared by the reaction of 4-tert-butylcatechol with 4,5-dichlorophthalonitrile. Metallophthalocyanine complexes (4–7) were obtained by cyclotetramerization of 7-tert-butyldibenzo [b,e] [1,4] dioxine-2,3-dicarbonitrile. All compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and other spectroscopic methods (IR, UV/Vis, and 1 H NMR). Phthalocyanine compounds remained nonaggregated in tetrahydrofuran at the studied concentration ranges.

The silk fiber of cocoons of silkworms of both the families consists of two major proteins, fibroin and sericin. The fibrion forms central core and sericin forms envelop. Fibroin and sericin, of mulberry silkworm, Bombyx mori deserve appreciable physioc-chemical properties and therefore, they are now recognized as excellent biomaterials in the field of tissue engineering, biotechnology and therapy. Sericin contributes about 20-30 per cent of total cocoon weight. It is characterized by its high content of serine and 18 amino acids, including essential amino acids.

Pollen morphological and phytochemical comparative study of nine Saudi Arabian date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) cultivars has been carried out. Pollen grains are generally small in size, monad, hetero-polar, asymmetric, elliptic in equatorial view, mono-sulcate. Exine sculpturing is micro-reticulate. Little differences have shown in the pollen dimensions, muri thickness and lumen size. The phytochemical screening of date palm pollen grains revealed the presence of high amounts of phenolics and flavonoids and displayed good antioxidant capacity.

The present work focused on the synthesis of b-chitosan submicron particles (CSPs) from Todarodes pacificus using mechanochemical techniques. The gladius was submitted to a sequence of mechanical and chemical treatments to synthesize b-chitin (CT), which was further deacetylated to form spherical chitosan submicron particles with an average diameter of 6100 nm. The surface morphology of b-chitin and CSPs was observed using electron microscopy. The degree of deacetylation (DD%), evaluated from the absorbance peak of a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrum, was 80 ± 2.5%.

Our setup allows us to disentan- gle the implications of these two alternative pricing mechanisms that are standard in the open-economy macro literature. In our model, di®erent assumptions regarding the pricing decisions of ¯rms are virtually inconsequential for the properties of aggregate variables, other than the terms of trade. In particular, the real exchange rate and the international relative price of ¯nal tradable goods behave similarly across the two price setting regimes.

Permanganate may be applied to sites as either potassium permanganate (KMnO4) or sodium permanganate (NaMnO4). Where cost dominates over engineering factors at a site, potassium permanganate is the preferred chemical form because it is more widely available, less costly, and is available in solid form, which facilitates transport and handling. Where other factors are more important, the liquid form of sodium permangante is preferable.
