The present investigation was conducted at experimental unit of Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, College of Horticulture, Mudigere, Chikmagalur district, Karnataka during the period from October 2013 to February 2014 to know the symbiotic relationship between marigold and VAM fungi at different phosphorus levels and its effect on dry matter production.

The present investigations were carried out in the experimental block of the department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, College of Horticulture, Mudigere, Chikmagalur, Karnataka to characterize the Asiatic lily genotypes for flowering and quality of cut flowers under naturally ventilated polyhouse. The days taken for flower bud emergence were significantly differed among all the genotypes of Asiatic lily. The genotype Telisker was the earliest to show colour by taking (35.00 days) whereas, Ercolania (48.67 days) was late for expressing colour in its flower.

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is having enormous diversity in its taste, flavour and fruit form. Their taste and flavour were unique to particular region. The Western Ghats region of Karnataka is having large diversity of unique pickling type mango, called Appemidi (tender mango). Because of unscientific management and with rapid deforestation in several of these areas, an exploratory survey was conducted in Western Ghat regions of Chikmagalur to conserve these unique types and also to review the morphological traits.

Cabbage, crop label, organophopshates, diamides and chlorantraniliprole Resultantly, in cabbage growing ecosystem of Karnataka as many as 33 insecticides are being used, in which 58 % insecticide are not having crop label. Majority of Bidar, Belagavi, Raichur, Chikmagalur and Hassan district farmers were relied on organophosphate insecticides to manage insect pest in cabbage crop while Bengaluru, Mysuru and Chamrajnagar districts farmer are mainly dependent on diamides and combination products for the management of cabbage pests.
