Childhood offenders are at an increased risk for developing mental health, social and educational problems later in life. An early onset of offending is a strong predictor for future persistent offending. Childhood offenders from ethnic minority groups are a vulnerable at-risk group. Using a short-term longitudinal design, this study examined the concurrent and longitudinal relationships among familial socioeconomic status (SES; i.e., family income and maternal and paternal education levels), marital confict (i.e., constructive and destructive marital confict), parenting practices (i.e., positive and negative parenting practices), child social competence (i.e., social skills), and child behavioral adjustment (i.e., internalizing and externalizing problems) in a comprehensive model.

The National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM) initiated reproductive health education in schools in 2003, with support from the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Egyp- tian Family Health Society. Initially, the project was called “The Reproductive Health Component for Support of Egyptian Girls.” The name later changed to the “Adolescents’ Health Program” at the request of the local communities. Originally a one-year initiative, it was extended until the end of 2012 due to its positive impact and community acceptance.
