Clear water culture

A lytic bacteriophage (SGP-1) against Salmonella gallinarum (S. gallinarum) was isolated by an enrichment protocol from the sewage water of a poultry farm. The presence of bacteriophage was observed by spot test over the bacterial lawn and double agar overlay assay. Isolated phage was able to produce clear, circular plaques of 2-3mm diameter on S. gallinarum lawn culture.

It was examined that weeds cause a lot of problems in the crop field. Weeds compete with the main crop for nutrients, water, food, space, sunlight etc. Weeds utilize the nutrients provided to the main crop and sometimes dominate the main crop. Some weeds are very noxious and they are harmful for both humans as well as animals.
