The present objective of this work is to find photoactive materials capable of facilitating visible light-driven redox reactions between CO2 and H2O. Our research is primarily focused on the incorporation of nitrogen (N) into the crystal lattice of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and its deposition onto Fe-MIL-88B to improve light absorption properties, minimize recombination of photo-generated electron-hole pairs, and increase CO2 adsorption capacity.

In this work, a bimetallic Ni-Cu-BDC metal-organic framework system was developed via solvent thermal approach with using an organic ligand recycled from waste plastic. The physical properties of Cu-BDC and bimetallic Ni-Cu-BDC were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and N2 isotherms adsorption-desorption (BET).

The adsorption of toxic gas molecules on Xenes (X = Si, Ge, Sn) has been studied by density functional theory (DFT). The optimized adsorption site of the adsorbates (CO, CO2, NO2) on Xenes (X = Si, Ge, Sn), the corresponding adsorption energies, band gap, band structure, and density of states of silicene, germanene, and stanene are discussed.

Graphene is a promising candidate for CO2 capture, storage, and sensor. Doping graphene with other elements is an effective way to modify its CO2 storage ability. The literature has shown that the N and B dopants could change the adsorption strength of CO2 on the graphene substrate.

Density Functional based Tight-binding method with dispersion corrections and Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations were performed to study the carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorption process on a metal-organic framework (IRMOF-1). The adsorption centers, adsorption energy, adsorption capacity, diffusion coefficient, and the effect of temperature on the adsorption process have been thoroughly examined and elucidated.

"Germanene as potential material for sensor of toxic gases CO2, SO2, and CH4: A DFT study" show that gases of CO2, SO2, and CH4 are physically adsorbed on germanene via a charge transfer mechanism. The physisorption of these gas molecules on germanene opens a band gap at the Dirac point of germanene. The different adsorption behaviors of gas molecules on germanene provide a feasible way to extend germanene for gas sensors.

The adsorption of methanol on reversed phase stationary phases in supercritical fluid chromatography
The surface excess isotherms of methanol from carbon dioxide on reversed phase stationary phases under two different operational conditions – which can be considered subcritical and supercritical conditions depending on the molar fraction of CO2 in methanol – were determined using the minor disturbance peak method.

This work presents a combined molecular simulation and experimental study to understand the effect of graphene on the packing and gas adsorption performance of a new class of polymers, known as polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIMs). PIMs can be processed to membranes or other useful forms and their chemistry can be tailored for specific applications.

Adsorption of carbon dioxide on elastic layered metal-organic frameworks (ELMs) was investigated during and after exposure to water. Two ELM variants, ELM-11 and ELM-12, were contacted with water vapor and the impact of cyclical exposure on the CO2 capacity of the adsorbents was observed.

Bismuth-based metal-organic frameworks (Bi-MOFs) such as bismuth subgallate are important for applications ranging from medicine to gas separation and catalysis. Due to the porous nature of such Bi-MOFs, it would be valuable to understand their gas sorption and separation properties.

In the present work, a biosynthesis route for the preparation of hierarchical pompon-like SAPO-34 was developed. Commercially available bacterial cellulose aerogel was used as template. SiO2 loaded bacterial cellulose aerogel was used as silica source and a simple hydrothermal treatment was used for crystallization.

The adsorption and mass transport of CO2 and CH4 in CHA zeolite were studied experimentally. First, large and well-defined CHA crystals with varying Si/Al ratios and morphologies ideal for adsorption studies were prepared. Then, adsorption isotherms were measured, and adsorption parameters were estimated from the data.

Anthropogenic greenhouse gas emission poses as serious threat to our environment and it is therefore of utmost importance that efficient systems are developed to mitigate these issues. SF6, in particular, has attracted more attention in recent years due to its global warming potential which severely exceeds that of CO2.

Efficient CO2 capture is necessary to solve the current environmental problems of global warming. Porous materials are promising for this purpose and adsorption capacity is a critical issue. Large cations in zeolites can often attach two small molecules, but it is not yet well established whether this applies to CO2.
