Biogas is produced through anaerobic fermentation process of organic matter and it contains CH4, CO2, H2S and other gases. The main combustible gas in biogas is CH4 and the presence of other gases reduces the calorific value of biogas, hence for obtaining better performance of engine it is essential to remove CO2 and H2S present in raw biogas. The dry absorbent based biogas purification system was developed and its performance was evaluated.

Greenhouse gases such as CO2 and methane are believed to contribute to global warming. Dust is a common problem throughout all mining activities. Dust generated by vehicle traffic can be reduced through a variety of means. Where water resources are not limited, regular watering with mobile water trucks or fixed sprinkler systems is effec- tive. Otherwise the application of surface binding agents, the selection of suitable construction materials and the sealing of heavily used access ways may be more suitable.

carbon dioxide recovery systems In the fermentation process, the yeast feeds on the wort to produce carbon dioxide and alcohol. This carbon dioxide can be recovered with closed fermentation tanks and used later in the carbonation process. The fermentation process generates about 8-10 lbs/barrel wort (3-4 kg CO2/hl) (Lom and Associates, 1998). Typical CO2 scrubber operations require 2 kg of water per kg of carbon dioxide (Dell, 2001). A large brewery can become self-sufficient for CO2 if a well-designed plant is installed to recover CO2 from fermentation. The U.S.
