The objective of the present study is to produce base layer winter active sportswear fabrics using natural and synthetic fibres and their blends which will deliver good comfort properties. Polyester, wool and bamboo fibres were selected for this study. Polyester is the most common fibre used in sportswear, wool is increasingly being used in sportswear and bamboo is a relatively new fibre that offers properties suitable for base layer sportswear. Bamboo is also regarded as a 'green' and eco-sustainable fibre.

Adaptation to extreme environments affects the stability and catalytic effi-ciency of enzymes, often endowing them with great industrial potential. We compared the environmental adaptation of the secreted endonuclease I from the cold-adapted marine fish pathogenVibrio salmonicida(VsEndA) and the human pathogen Vibrio cholerae (VcEndA).

EPR spectroscopy, performed after site-directed spin-labeling, was used to study structural dynamics in a cold-adapted alkaline phosphatase (EC 3.1.1.1). Differences in the structural environment of six spin-labeled side chains allowed them to be classified (with reference to previously obtained mobility maps) as belonging to loop positions (either relatively surface exposed or in structural contact) or helix positions (surface exposed, in contact, or buried).

Harrison's Internal Medicine Chapter 17. Fever and Hyperthermia Fever and Hyperthermia: Introduction Body temperature is controlled by the hypothalamus. Neurons in both the preoptic anterior hypothalamus and the posterior hypothalamus receive two kinds of signals: one from peripheral nerves that transmit information from warmth/cold receptors in the skin and the other from the temperature of the blood bathing the region. These two types of signals are integrated by the thermoregulatory center of the hypothalamus to maintain normal temperature.

Terminology and Abbreviations biles are even programmed to adjust engine operation for things like valve wear and combustion chamber deposit buildup as the engine ages. In automobiles the same computers are used to make smart cars by controlling the steering, brakes, exhaust system, suspension, seats, anti-theft systems, sound-entertainment systems, shifting, doors, repair analysis, navigation, noise suppression, environment, comfort, etc. On some systems engine speed is adjusted at the instant when the transmission shifts gears, resulting in a smoother shifting process.
