A field experiment was conducted in kharif 2011on blackgram genotype T-9. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replication and thirteen treatments. There was significant improvement recorded in yield, nutrient content, uptake and physico-chemical properties viz. pH, electrical conductivity, organic carbon and available N and P of soil under black gram crop. Grain yield was increased by 47.06% in treatment T13 over control while, organic carbon showed significantly highly positive correlation with available nitrogen (r=.878) in post harvest soil.

The role of humic acid for enhancing biofertilization performance was studied on production potential of cabbage in alluvium soil. Application of Pseudomonas fluorescens (P. fluorescens) in combination with humic acid was evaluated. The results indicated that the P. fluorescens and humic acid both are significantly influenced the productivity of cabbage and physicochemical properties of soil.

A field study was carried out on Alluvial soils of Varanasi to analyse the short term impacts of replacing mineral by organic fertilizers on the physico-chemical properties and enzyme activities relevant for soil fertility and crop production. Three types of fertilization regimes were tested viz., no fertilizer, conventional as 100% RDF by inorganic fertilizer and combined integrated fertilizer in which 70% RDF with 30% of the nitrogen were supplied by either FYM or pressmud or vermicompost or combination of these two or all.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2015 and 2016 to study the effect of integrated nutrient management (INM) practices on soil biological properties in rice. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with eight treatments including six INM practices, one chemical practice and one control (i.e. no N) with three replications. The results revealed that biological properties of soil were significantly enhanced by the application of combined use of organic and inorganic fertilizers after harvest of crop during both the years of experimentation.

Balanced fertilizer application is important for sustaining the productivity of ramie since the nutrient requirement of the crop is quite high due to its high biomass production. The present experiment was conducted at Nagaon, Assam, India from 2007 to 2009 to study the effect of varying levels of inorganic fertilizer nitrogen alone or in combination with crop residue, i.e., ramie waste on fibre yield and nutrient uptake by ramie, soil fertility and SOC concentration.
