Contingent crop

The present study concentrates on the externalities of air pollution due to cement industries and quantification of these externalities with environmental valuation techniques and household health production function. The study revealed that the decline in crop production was directly related with pollution intensity. The agriculture damage function related the value of agriculture damages to averting expenditure of land and irrigation water and quality indices of land and water quality.

This study may helps in understanding the impact of climate change on the nature of climate, temperature, evaporation, water balance and humidity of this region so that suitable cropping system, contingent crop planning may be designed for better crop yield and to explore possibility of crop diversification in the changing scenario.

Rice acreage estimation prior to harvest is very essential in predicting agricultural production for devising policies to face contingencies. The present study emphasizes the application of Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information System (GIS) for acreage estimation of rice in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. Mono temporal cloud free Landsat 8 OLIimageries at a spatial resolution of 30 m obtained during reproductive stage of the crop was used for this research.

For adopting a particular cropping plan, the time of onset of monsoon is the most important single parameter but it has not been considered in most of the studies conducted for crop planning under rainfed regions. Rainfall data of Bhilwara district in Rajasthan state for a period of 57 years were analysed from two approaches viz.; „Meteorological‟ approach and „Onset of monsoon‟ approach.

The evaluation of contingent crop (Niger) has been placed in two different locality of Koderma (Jharkhand). The two locations for inception of trail were selected on the basis of failure of primary Kharif season crop rice on upland field condition. Aberrant and harsh weather condition including erratic, sometime lack to rainfall forced the farmers to transplant aged seeding which may directly affect the yield of rice. In the year of 2016-17 the Basdih and Paharpur village of Markacho block were selected for placement of Niger crop.

Waterlogging, caused by contingent flooding, continuous rainfall and inadequate drainage or a high water table, is one of the most important constraints for maize production in Asia and many other parts of the world.

In view of the importance of pulses in Indian dietary system and agriculture sector in state economy several attempts have been made to study the trends in area and production of pulses crops which reveal the growth performance. The secondary data were collected for area and production of pulses for the period of 1979–80 to 2011-12. The study period was classified as Pre WTO (World Trade Organization) era and Post WTO era. For the estimation of the trends in area and production and to measure the association in productivity we use Mann-Kendall test.
