In this paper, an artificial neural network (ANN) model was applied to forecast PM2.5 at the Coc Sau open–pit coal mine (Northern Vietnam) with fine–tuning parameters. It aims to provide the feasibility and insights into controlling air quality in open–pit mines using artificial intelligence techniques.

Based on a thing that it is difficult to choose the parameters of active disturbance rejection control for the non-linear ALSTOM gasifier, multi-objective optimization algorithm is applied in the choose of parameters. Simulation results show that performance tests in load change and coal quality change achieve better dynamic responses and larger scales of rejecting coal quality disturbances. The study provides an alternative to choose parameters for othe r control schemes of the ALSTOM gasifier.

The major sources of indoor air pollution worldwide include indoor combustion of solid fuels, tobacco smoking, outdoor air pollutants, emissions from construction materials and furnishings, and improper maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning systems. Although some indoor air pollutants, such as environmental tobacco smoke, are of concern globally, profiles of indoor air pollutants and the resulting health risks are generally very different in developed and developing countries.
