  • This study explores the relationship between top manager characteristics and company corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. Using integral CSR, corporate governance, corporate commitment, social participation and the environmental protection index, we found that the academic degree held by a top manager is the main factor that influences company CSR performance, especially events related to environmental protection. The positive association between top managers’ working experience and CSR is significant only for the environmental protection index.

  • This study investigates the investment performance of selected portfolios which focus on intangible assets, such as a firm’s reputation, employee relations, brand quality, and social ethics. Corporate social responsibility investment is also investigated using the KLD Research & Analytics database. The outstanding issuance of corporate bonds has risen to almost 10 percent of GDP in 2011, but the market is still very concentrated in short duration rates, with a limited investor base and less diversified issuers.
