Tomato is world’s one of the largest growing vegetable crop and ranks first among processing crops. It’s production suffers with many biotic and abiotic factors. Leaf blight disease caused by different species of Alternaria is one of the most dreadful diseases of tomato, causing huge economic losses. The present study was conducted in order to evaluate the efficacy of different fungicides against Alternaria alternata, one of cause for blight disease of tomato.

Lentil (Lens culinaris L.) is an important edible pulse crop. It is an important source of protein for human diet, plays a vital role as a rotational crop and enhances soil fertility. Sclerotium rolfsii causing collar rot disease on lentil crop is an important polyphagous pathogenic fungus causing substantial losses in quality and productivity (Punja and Grogan, 1988).

Soil erosion strongly affects crop yield, undermines the long term productivity of farm land and sustainability of farming system, and poses a major threat to the livelihood of the farmers and rural communities. The United Nations Environmental Program reported that the productivity of soil has reduced and resulting in economically unfeasible cultivation on about 20 million hectare of land each year due to soil erosion and resulting degradation of land.

Cattle is one of the major livestock species for milk production, contributing significantly to the economy of our country and continuous milk production needs regular conception and successful calf crop production. World-over, for dairy economy, there is emphasis on one calf per year per cattle. Successful calving follows survival of the conceptus through embryonic and fetal development.

Pest control practices in the vegetable crops have been heavily dominated by the routine use of broad-spectrum insecticides to control pests. Concerns have emerged about the adverse consequences of over use of pesticide. These consequences include short and longterm health hazards, contamination and environmental degradation. To minimize the pest losses farmers heavily depend on the chemical pesticides and accessing pest management information from the pesticide dealers due to weak state extension support system.

Insect pests and pathogens (fungi, bacteria and viruses) are responsible for severe crop losses. Insects feed directly on the plant tissues, while the pathogens lead to damage or death of the plant. Plants have evolved a certain degree of resistance through the production of defence compounds, which may be aproteic, e.g. antibiotics, alkaloids, terpenes, cyanogenic glucosides or proteic, e.g. chitinases,b-1,3-glu-canases, lectins, arcelins, vicilins, systemins and enzyme inhibitors.

Mekong Delta rice area's largest with about 3.8 million ha. Of these, winter-spring rice crop was planted 1.5 million hectares, 1.6 million ha of summer-collection, case 3 is 0.5 million ha and 0.25 million ha of winter rice. Rice production in 2008 the entire area is 20.6 million tons in 2009 is estimated at 21 million tons. Supply 90% of the Mekong Delta rice exports contributed greatly to Vietnam in the list of "powers" rice. But this is the loss rate of the highest harvest.

The experimental research of the authors from 2003-2006 on the following agricultural products: Watermelon, sugarcane, cassava, groundnuts, maize and rice. The results show that post-harvest losses of agricultural products is very high: Watermelon 6.6 - 12.6%, sugarcane 1:46 to 3:26%, Wu 8.88 - 1.18%, rice 8:36 to 12:25%, 17:02% 13:33 Lac, San slices of 13:27 to 17:49% cassava flour and 5:17 to 8:22%.
