The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of land preparation methods and iron-coated (Fe-coated) rice seeds on the growth, yield, and Fe uptake of rice in alluvial soils in the Mekong Delta region. The experiment was conducted in the 2020 summerautumn cropping season under the triple rice cultivation system in Chau Thanh district, An Giang province.

Understanding the processes of displacement and redistribution of soil particles caused by different erosion types is considered an efficient sediment management tool in various scales from the field plot to the watershed. The rainfed agriculture practices on high gradient slopes are one of the main sources of accelerated soil erosion due to the disturbance of soil structure by tillage processes.

World population is increasing at an alarming rate, and crop cultivation on marginal lands has emerged as an alternate option to feed the burgeoning population. However, marginal lands are characterized by poor soil health and other undesirable characteristics resulting in low crop production and less economic returns. Interest in the application of superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) for marginal lands has been increasing.

Vo Nhai is a moutainous district in Thai Nguyen, has complicated topography with population is almost of minority ethnics. The famers cultivate rice in the small plots, traditional practices and lack of consideration about the suitable factors leading to get low yield and rice quality. It is very important to choose suitable land for rice production in order to improve yield, quality and ensure food security.

The green vegetable belt for Hanoi city extended in Thanh Tri, Gia Lam, Dong Anh and Me Linh districts, is providing daily thousands of tons of green vegetables for the city. Previously there were some studies on the distribution of heavy metals in the suburbs of Hanoi, including in the Dong Anh area, but the results were limited.

Chloroplasts play a crucial role in sustaining life on earth. The availability of over 800 sequenced chloroplast genomes from a variety of land plants has enhanced our understanding of chloroplast biology, intracellular gene transfer, conservation, diversity, and the genetic basis by which chloroplast transgenes can be engineered to enhance plant agronomic traits or to produce high-value agricultural or biomedical products.

The objectives of this study were to study the existing highland agricultural land use patterns; to analyze the environmental sustainability of highland agricultural land use patterns; and to determine the optimal highland agricultural land use patterns. Environmental indicators of concern were soil fertility, water quality, and chemicals used in crop cultivation.

Orobanche cumana is a parasitic plant that can lead to advanced losses in yield of agricultural lands cultivating sunflower, depending on the sunflower varieties and the level of contamination. In our study, genetic diversity of six O. cumana populations from the Thrace region of Turkey was determined with the help of eight SSR (microsatellite) loci. All SSR loci were polymorphic. A total of 23 alleles were determined for the analyzed 120 samples. Allele number of each SSR locus ranged from two to six. Mean number of alleles (Na = 2.271), effective allele number (Ne = 1.

Salinization seriously threatens land use efficiency and crop yields across the world. Understanding the mechanisms plants use to protect against salt stress will help breeders develop salt-tolerant vegetable crops. Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) is an important vegetable crop of the mallow family, which is now cultivated in warm regions worldwide.

In this paper, the global and Indian scenarios about organic farming have been reviewed. In India, the cultivated land under certification is just 2.8 Mha. Yield declines in organic farm conversion, enhancement of soil fertility, introduction of animals, certification restrictions, biodiversity, marketing and policy support are the key concerns arising in organic farming.

The research work entitled “Economics of Brinjal production in Dhamtari Block of Chhattisgarh – An Economic Analysis.’’ was carried out with a view to estimate the costs and returns in brinjal production. Five Villages from Dhamtari block were selected purposively on the basis of area under brinjal crop. After selection of this villages, a list of brinjal growing farmers were prepared and further categorized into three size group on the basis of size of land holding, i.e. small farmer (up to 2.0 ha), medium farmer (2.01 to 4 ha), From each size group 20 farmers were selected randomly.

This paper is an attempt to analyse the land use under homestead, the features of homestead gardening, its importance and socio economic profile of the homestead farmer. Homesteads are traditionally used for selfsufficiency. But due to rapid urbanization, we observe large scale conversion of agricultural land and fragmentation of holdings.

In India, area under cultivation is about 159.7 million ha. 68% of the total net sown area comes under dry land cultivation, spread over 177 districts. As farmers turn increasingly to multiple cropping systems to boost their incomes and meet increased demand for their produce, the time available for seedbed preparation has decreased considerably.

Longleng district falls under the subtropical hill zone of Eastern Nagaland. Agriculture is the main stay of the people, in which Low land (Pani Kheti) is one of them for their livelihood. Farmers of the district practiced traditional rice cultivation with low yield after maximum inputs due to lack of knowledge of improved cultivation practices. Therefore, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) took initiative to replace the farmers’ practices through disseminations of improved technology for enhancing the productivity and income.
