Dairy farmers of Haryana

The present study was conducted in Rewari and Khol block of Rewari district Haryana, with the objective to know the socio-economic status of SHG members. The data on socioeconomic variables were collected from 90 respondents drawn from 30 SHGs. The study revealed that almost all the members were land less and found to belong to middle age group (35-46 years), married, practicing dairy as major occupation, small herd size and belonging to low income group.

A study in Hisar district of Haryana was conducted during 2014-15 to assess the impact of scientific dairy farming training on knowledge level of dairy farmers about management practices on randomly selected 60 participant and 60 non-participant respondents. Data were collected through personal interview with the help of pretested structured interview schedule from two villages during 2014-15. The study reveals that majority (53.33%) of participant and non-participant dairy farmers had medium level of knowledge about management practices of scientific dairy husbandry practices.

Study was conducted in Haryana to assess the extent of adoption of improved dairy farming practices by the selected dairy farmers. The data were collected from four agroclimatic zone of Haryana. From each zone one district was selected purposively on the basis of milch animal population. Then from each district two blocks were selected randomly. From each block two villages were selected randomly. From each village 15 dairy farmers were selected randomly.

A survey was conducted to study the mineral composition of green and dry roughage in Gurgaon district of Haryana state. From each of the four blocks, three villages were randomly selected. The study was all about assessing of breeding and Feeding practices followed of dairy farming by farmers in Karnal District of Haryana. Total eight villages of Karnal District were gleaned for this specific descriptive study.By random sampling all total 120 respondents were personally interviewed to know their followed dairy farming practices.
