A total of 75 samples of traditional yogurt, doogh from dairy units in Fars province were randomly collected. However, the differences in mammary metabolism of dairy cows fed different forages remain elucidated. In this study, we utilized transcriptomic RNA-seq and iTRAQ proteomic techniques to investigate and integrate the differences of molecular pathways and biological processes in the mammary tissues collected from 12 lactating cows fed corn stover (CS, low-quality, n = 6) and alfalfa hay (AH, high-quality, n = 6).

  • A study was conducted at the Banaras Hindu University Dairy Farm to estimate the effects of feeding management practices on rearing of animals and milk production in terms of economic analysis. The data pertaining to the feeds and feeding systems being followed and their input costs were collected from the records maintained for all the animals at the dairy farm. The lactation yield of cows and buffaloes has been worked out to 996 and 1150 Litres, respectively. The cost of daily feeding per head and per Litre of milk has been estimated to Rs. 60.26 and Rs. 10.80, respectively.

  • A field survey was conducted in Aravalli district to determine the healthcare management practices followed by dairy farmers. Data were collected from randomly selected 150 dairy farmers through personal interview with the help of pretested structured schedule. It was revealed that majority of the respondents (86.66%) observed off feed as main symptom of illness followed by decrease in milk production (39.33%), uneasiness (24.00%) and dry muzzle (21.33%).

Albeit that, it can harbor a number of pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus which causes a big problems in the dairy industry by affecting milk quality and production. The imprudent use of antibiotics by farmers led to the appearance of resistant bacterial strains. The objective of this study was to isolate, identify Staphylococcus aureus from different farms in Khartoum State and to study its antibiotic sensitivity pattern.   • Samples of milk from buffalo, cow, goat milk, samples of dairy products from paneer and curd were used for analysis of physico-chemical parameters viz fat, protein, moisture, ash, T.S., S.N.F. and lactose. Maximum fat percentage among milk product samples was observed in paneer which ranged 14.67+0.421 followed by cow milk 6.421+0.0.107. The maximum protein percentage was observed in paneer 12.978+0.244.

  • Mastitis is the most economically significant disease of dairy animals. This condition is associated with a significant reduction in milk yield, increased costs of production and deteriorated milk quality. In the present study a total number of 40 bovine mastitis milk samples were collected to isolate and identify the Pseudomonas aeruginosa. All the samples were inoculated into nutrient broth which was further cultured on agar plates. Colonies showing typical Pseudomonas morphological characteristics were processed for biochemical analysis.

  • The present study was conducted to evaluate the scenario of the livestock markets in central plain zone of Punjab. There are total 5 big livestock markets in the central plain zone of Punjab. Out of these three markets namely Jagraon, Sadhugarh and Khanna deals majorly with productive animals sale purchase while rest two deals with sale-purchase of unproductive buffaloes (senile, calves etc) for meat purpose only.   • The present study was conducted to know the selective breeding, feeding and management practices followed by dairy farmers in Punjab. A total of 150 farmers were selected randomly and divided into three categories, small (n=48), medium (n=74) and large (n=28). With help of well-structured interview schedule and pretested questionnaire data were collected w.r.t. breeding, feeding and management practices being followed.
