This paper proposes a model reference adaptive control (MRAC) design for vehicle active suspension systems with unknown spring stiffness and damping coefficients with the aim of improving the performance of suspension systems. We explored a new helical spring magnet (HSM) concept using micromagnetic simulation along with analytical modeling. This research proposes the dynamic stability improvement of a large-scale power system which consists of a conventional synchronous generator (SG)-based power plant integrated with a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind farm by using a generalized unified power-flow controller (GUPFC). This paper proposed a PID controller for a semi-active suspension system with a hydraulic single-tube shock absorber. A quarter-car model with a sub-model of the single-tube shock absorber was used to perform the simulation. In comparison with the non-controlled system, the damping performance of the controlled system increased significantly.

This paper points out how much useful vibration can be extracted from a baseexcited oscillator, which is controlled by the on-off electrical damping. We studies the class of on-off electrical damping controller, which switches the damping level from high to low and back at fixed times every quarter of period. The problem reduces to the maximization of a single-variable function. This result can open the new direction to amplify the useful vibration using controllable dampings.

This paper studies the class of on-off damping controller, which switches the damping level from high to low and back at fixed times every quarter of period. Among this class, this paper shows the solution of the lower bound controller producing the lowest amplitude-frequency curve. The lower bound curve shows some fundamental natures of the system and gives some useful directions for a good on-off damping controller.

Wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporium f. spciceris is a devastating disease of chickpea. It occurs in 2 stages; seedling stage (0-30%) and reproductive stage (0-57%). Annual chickpea yield loss due to Fusarium wilt was estimated to be 10% in India. So, our objective is to control chickpea wilt disease by using Trichoderma based biofilms as an alternative to chemical fungicides. Trichoderma viride is a potential antagonistic fungi which prevents diseases like wilt, brown rot, damping off, charcoal rot etc.

This work deals with the control design and development of an automated car-following strategy that further increases robustness to vehicle dynamics uncertainties. The control algorithm is applied on a hierarchical architecture where high and low level control layers are designed for gap-control and desired acceleration tracking, respectively. A fractional-order controller is proposed due to its flexible frequency shape, fulfilling more demanding design requirements.
