Municipal wastewater treatment plants generally utilise biological activated sludge processes to remove organic compounds and nitrogen. The biological nitrogen removal (BNR) occurs in two steps, nitrification (ammonium removal) and denitrification (nitrates removal). This study focused on a medium-sized wastewater treatment plant (WTP) which experienced poor nitrification for years, mainly when the weather temperature drops.

The objective of the project was to portray memories of the Millennium Drought period through the development of artworks and this was initially undertaken with a photoshoot in January 2014. The project marries fine art methodologies with digital media and contributes to contemporary art practices that re-imagine the ways that weather can impact the environment and inhabitants living on the land. The artworks created are overall a documentation of my stories and memories from North East Victoria.

This study presents an hourly updated assimilation and model forecast system (Rapid Refresh - RAP) designed for rainfall nowcasting at Ho Chi Minh city (named HCM-RAP). The HCM-RAP implemented the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model, driven by Global Forecast System (GFS) data at horizontal resolution of 0.25x0.25 degree, in combination with rapid update of radar data at Nha Be station.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif, 2018 at Agricultural College Farm, Bapatla to study the phenology and various weather health indices of pearlmillet grown under different spacings and dates of sowing. The crop sown on 2nd fortnight of July accumulated maximum growing degree days, photo thermal units, heat use efficiency, helio thermal use efficiency and photo thermal use efficiency whereas the highest helio thermal units were recorded under 2nd fortnight of August sowing to attain different phenological stages till maturity.

Studies on seasonal incidence of aphid (Brevicoryne brassicae L.), infesting cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) work was carried out at College of Agriculture, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.) during 2015-16 and 2016-17. The Brevicoryne brassicae L. damage was observed with a varying degree of infestation. The peak population of aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae L., was observed 172.5 / 20 plants and 140.45/ 20 plants in month of Febuary during both years (2015-16 and 2016-17), respectively.

To assess the impact of weather parameters on mustard aphid, a field experiment was conducted during Rabi season 2011-12 to 2017-18 at Main Castor-Mustard Research Station, S.D. Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar. The experiment was laid down in randomized block design consisting five varietal treatments viz. BSH-1, GSC-6, T-27, GS1 and GDM-4 with three replications. The crop was sown during 24th – 30th Sept as timely sown crop and 15th – 21st Oct as late sown crop.

Fresh to weathered metarhyolites crop out in the Ilgın (Konya) area of the Afyon-Bolkardağ Zone. Determination of the development of weathering was studied by physical (i.e. specific gravity, dry unit weight, saturated unit weight, porosity, void ratio, and degree of saturation by weight) and mechanical (i.e. point load) properties and the “point rock change value” (RCVp ) and “point rock change ratio” (RCRp ) values of the metarhyolite rock samples.

The European Environment Agency Aug. 18 released a report predicting increasingly severe weather problems in Europe over the next generation as a result of rising temperatures, calling the 1997 Kyoto Protocol the best first step to reversing some of the effects of the trend. The report, Impacts of Europe's changing climate: An indicator- based assessment, which is in line with much of the previous research into the subject, showed that temperatures were rising in Europe faster than they are rising worldwide.
