A plethora of studies have been conducted to examine the relationship between EFL students’ use of strategies and reading comprehension. Findings from those studies agree on a consensus that reading strategies possess a significant relationship with reading performance. This study functions as an attempt to contribute to previous findings by examining how students develop their reading strategies acquired from thematic texts at high school level to university level with authentic texts.

This study focuses on examining the efficacy of flipped reading class model in developing English majors’ reading comprehension. An experimental research was carried out in which the control group was taught with the traditional steps of a reading lesson while the experimental group was taught using flipped learning approach. A pretest and a posttest were administered to both groups before and after the experimental program to measure the effectiveness of flipped reading classes.

The study sought to answer the question of whether there are significant relationship between the teachers’ professional qualities, English background knowledge and students’ reading abilities in terms of comprehension, extensive, intensive reading. The respondents of the study were 100 non-English major students of the College of Sciences, Thai Nguyen University in the second semester of the academic year 2012-2013.

Acicular BaTiO3 particles were developed using solution systems. The morphology of BaC2O4 0.5H2O was controlled to acicular shape. Its phase transition to BaTiO3 was realized by introducing Ti ions from the coprecipitated amorphous phase. Acicular BaTiO3 particles have an aspect ratio as high as 18 and the particle size can be controlled by varying the growth period of BaC2O4 · 0.5H2O which governs the size of BaC2O4 · 0.5H2O particles.
