This study aims to test the single and combination effects of dietary vitamin C and β-glucan on golden trevally, Gnathanodon speciosus. The basal diet (D0) was added with vitamin C at 200 mg kg-1 diet (D1), βglucan at 1.0 g kg-1 diet (D2), and a combination of vitamin C and β-glucan (200 mg vitamin C and 1 g βglucan per kilogram diet) (D3).

Coconut (Cocos nucifera) is one of the tropical nut fruits containing high percentage of dietary fibre among plant foods that are beneficial to human health. Rheological characteristics measurements for wheat cassava flour blends with the inclusion of coconut fibre were studied using the Mixolab, the standard “Chopin+”protocol.

Bovine milk provides important minerals, essential for human nutrition and dairy product quality. For changing the mineral composition of the milk to improve dietary needs in human nutrition and technological properties of milk, a thorough understanding of the genetics underlying milk mineral contents is important.

The effects of diet on the interaction between microbes and host health have been widely studied. However, its effects on the gut microbiota of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) have not been elucidated. This study aimed to investigate the association between diet and the overall diversity and different taxa levels of the gut microbiota in CRC patients via the nutrition-wide association approach.

Chlorella vulgaris has been proposed as a sustainable green feedstock in poultry nutrition due to its ease of cultivation, minimal environmental impact and balanced nutritional composition. However, the majority of studies documents the use of C. vulgaris as a dietary supplement in broilers instead of a feed ingredient.

Transition period (TP) is characterised by physiological and metabolic changes contributing to immunodysregulation. Since knowledge about this period in sheep is scarce, we analysed changes in selected immune variables during the TP in ewes and whether dietary magnesium (Mg) supplementation could modulate these immune variables.

Impaired gut microbiota leads to pathogenic bacteria infection, pro-inflammatory response and postweaning diarrhea. Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) K88 is a major cause of post-weaning diarrhea in weaned piglets. Fermented soybean meal (FSBM) could relieve diarrhea, alleviate inflammatory response, and modulate gut microbiota of weaned piglets.

Genomes are composed of long strings of nucleotide monomers (A, C, G and T) that are either scavenged from the organism’s environment or built from metabolic precursors. The biosynthesis of each nucleotide differs in atomic requirements with different nucleotides requiring different quantities of nitrogen atoms.

Knowledge of a predator’s diet is important for understanding its ecology and for predicting its influence on the dynamics of prey populations. We investigated the spatial distribution and diet composition of the leopard (Panthera pardus) in the northeastern Himalayan region of Pakistan. We used molecular scatology technique to identify scats of common leopard collected from the field. The leopard was recorded at 30 different surveyed sites with an elevational range between 757–1891 m a.s.l. Its diet comprised 17 prey species, including both wild and domestic prey.

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is important commercial fruits of India. It is liked by people due to its high palatability, excellent taste and exemplary nutritive value. Mango pulp is rich is carbohydrates, minerals, vitamin C, starch, pectin, carotenoids, but lacks in protein, fat and some essential amino acids. But pulses are good sources of important dietary nutrients, proteins, minerals and vitamins. The present study was carried out to develop soy flour incorporated mango bars from two mango varieties namely Neelum and Totapuri (Bangalora) with pretreated soy flour.

It was previously thought that the establishment of the gut microbiota was completed within the first two years of life, and this community maintains fairly stable throughout the adult lifetime thereafter. However, recent evidence shows that the gut microbiota composition is constantly changing in the gut environment and is heavily influenced by diet. The individual differences responding to diets would root on the fluctuations of gut microbiota if dietary fluctuations affect the composition of gut microbiota so significantly.

Orange peel is a rich source of dietary fiber and antioxidants. In current life style scenario, people are becoming more aware of functional key ingredients and thus the demand of functional foods is increasing. This study was aimed to develop functional biscuits by incorporating orange peel powder (5, 10, 15 and 20%). Oranges were washed thoroughly, peeled and the fruit peels were cut into small pieces and oven dried (50±5 C) and ground to a fine powder. Developed biscuits were evaluated for sensory characteristics using 9-point hedonic scale.
