This study expands upon an existing one-dimensional model to develop an innovative two-dimensional numerical framework for simulating moisture propagation within wood. Utilizing the finite difference method, this approach offers a more detailed analysis of moisture behavior in wood structures.

For the seventh time in the ten years the working group has existed people from different parts of the world gathered to discuss issues related to the Transfer and Diffusion of Information Technology. The theme of the 10th anniversary IFIP 8.6 working group event was “The Diffusion and Adoption of Networked Information Technologies”. Once again researchers and practitioners met and discussed if and how we can understand and model diffusion and adoption of technological innovations. The conference attracted 23 submissions.

A major feature of public sector accounting reform has been the replacement of conventional cash-based accounting with accrual accounting. Even though accrual accounting is a regular practice in the private sector, little is known about the way in which these practices are diffused throughout large and complex public sector organisations. Applying Roger's Theory of Diffusion Innovation (1962) and Davis's Model of Technology Acceptance (1986), this study examines the factors that influence the decision-making of the enterprises in application of balanced scorecard in Vietnamese hospitality firms. An analysis of the 315 hotel managers indicates that managers' perceptions of usefulness and ability to acquire new knowledge significantly influence the decision to use the balanced scorecard in Vietnamese hospitality firms.

This paper seeks to draw together ideas from different sources to place washback in the context of other possibilities. The concepts of adaptive implementation and programmed implementation are taken from Henrichsen’s hybrid model of the diffusion/implementation of innovation in education systems. Washback is shown to act in parallel to but distinct from programmed implementation. The picture is completed with van Lier’s concept of wash-forward, first outlined in 1989 but subsequently neglected in the literature.

The results of Structural equation modeling (SEM) indicate that Perceived financial cost, Perceived risk and Subjective norm are the most influencing factors that affect people’s behavioral intention to adopt (or continue to use) mobile banking. Findings of this study have greater significance for the mobile banking service providers and policy makers of Bangladesh to design mobile banking services in such a way so that access and usage of this service can be increased which ultimately will have a positive impact on the country’s financial inclusion campaign.

The research aim of this article is to investigate the adoption patterns of HUB platforms that create and support virtual learning communities (VLC). The adoption patterns of one particular HUB called the Collaboratory for Engineering Education Research or CLEERhub, is presented as an example of how HUBs may be used as VLCs. After explaining the affordances of the HUB architecture, the article uses two approaches to discuss the adoption of CLEERhub by users. First, the authors link the five stages of Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovation model with various CLEERhub user metrics.
