The weak cohesion of the sediment materials often causes localized surface slumping phenomena with significant amplitudes, extending up to several meters, disrupting the equilibrium trend of sedimentation and leading to an accumulation of sediment towards the dam intake culvert. These observations provide insights into the dynamics of the reservoir surface sediment environment, while also demonstrating that current reservoir operation and exploitation conditions can ensure the longevity and safety as per the design of the Cua Dat Hydroelectric project.

The circadian clock and the daily rhythms it produces are crucial for human health, but are often disrupted by the modern environment. At the same time, circadian rhythms may influence the efficacy and toxicity of therapeutics and the metabolic response to food intake.

Ebook "Advanced technologies for managing insect pests" among the highlights of this book is the use of novel insecticides acting on a specific site in an insect group and are compatible with natural enemies and the environment. One of such approaches is based on disrupting the activity of biochemical sites acting on transcription factors such as the Helix-Loop-Helix (bHLH) family, anti juvenile hormone (AJH) agents that target JH biosynthetic enzymes, G-protein coupled receptors (GPCR) and bursicon as a target for insect control.

Anti-androgens entering the aquatic environment, e.g., by effluents from wastewater treatment plants or agricultural settings are contributing to endocrine disruption in wildlife and humans. Due to the simultaneous presence of agonistic compounds, common in vitro bioassays can underestimate the risk posed by androgen antagonists.

Sleep disorders are commonly encountered in clinic. Evidences showed that sleep deprivation may modulate the effectiveness of general anesthetics in rats. However, this phenomenon has not been explored in humans. The study aimed to investigate whether the hypnotic potency of sevoflurane in patients with sleep disorders differ from patients with normal sleep habits.

There is great variation in the conservation status of the last habitats with long-term natural viable populations of the salmon species Hucho hucho in Maramureş Mountains Nature Park, Eastern Carpathians (Romania). According to the specific guidelines for Natura 2000, 42.11% are in good conservation status, 31.57% are of average status, and 26.32% are in a partially degraded condition.

High hydrostatic pressure and low temperatures make the deep sea a harsh environment for life forms. Actin organization and microtubules assembly, which are essential for intracellular transport and cell motility, can be disrupted by high hydrostatic pressure. High hydrostatic pressure can also damage DNA. Nucleic acids exposed to low temperatures can form secondary structures that hinder genetic information processing.

Researchers have found an eco-friendly alternative by the way of incorporating microbial biofertilizers to supersede chemical fertilizers. Microbial biofertilizers has been analysed as substitute in procuring soil fertility and expanding vegetable production. Microbial fertilizers are promising enough to outstand the chemical fertilizers ensuring sustainable agriculture without disrupting the environment.

This article presents a new approach to address the problem of joint planning of physical and financial flows. The main contribution of this work is that it integrates supply chain contracts and also focuses on supply chain tactical planning in an uncertain and disrupted environment, taking into account budgetary and contractual constraints. In order to minimize the effect of disturbances due to existing uncertainties, a planning model is developed and implemented on a rolling horizon basis.

PsbO is a ubiquitous extrinsic protein of photosystem II required for providing proper environment for water splitting activity of photosystem II. Exposure of wheat to heat stress initially reduces the rate of photosynthesis by disintegrating the photosystem II, primarily by disruption of the oxygen evolving complex (OEC). Here, we identified and cloned putative PsbOgene of 1 kb from wheat cv. HD2329 using de novo assembly. Expression analysis showed higher expression of PsbO transcript in HD2985, as compared to HD2329 during pollination and grain-filling stages.

Metritis and endometritis are the very common postpartum uterine infections that results into infertility in dairy cattle, production loss and economical losses to the farmer. As postpartum uterus favors bacterial growth so it is frequently found in almost of unhygienic environment reared animals. Breaching of birth canal during dystocia, retention of placenta, wet environment during winter season and immunosuppression due to many reasons are the risk factors for the bacteria invasion to uterus.

Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) have been known as health threatening compounds and much attention has been paid in a research related with detection and/or removal from food sources and living environment. Amitrol, classified as one of EDCs, is hard to be detected and removed due to its chemical characteristics such as small molecular weight, low reactivity and high solubility.

Exceptions to the recommended criteria may arise in various circumstances. These include cases where equipment has to be assessed that when installed was compliant with safety and performance standards that predate the criteria/suspension levels presented here. In such cases, the equipment must be reassessed according to the criteria of this report including the risk assessment. Following that, the MPE must make a recommendation to the holder.
