In the current scenario, the drug-resistant tuberculosis is a significant challenge in the control of tuberculosis worldwide. In order to investigate the in vivo evolution of drug-resistant M. tuberculosis, the present study envisaged sequencing of the draft genomes of 18 serial isolates from four pre-extensively drug-resistant (pre-XDR) tuberculosis patients for continuous genetic alterations.

Proper tillage, precise placement and optimum coverage of seeds and fertilizers in the moist zone of soil are most critical for successful crop establishment. The present work was therefore taken up to study the soil coverage in the furrow with a developed furrow covering device with shovel and shoe type furrow opener. Experiments were conducted in the test soil bin with the three types of furrow openers like plain shovel, shovel with shoe and shovel+shoe+covering attachment with load of 5 kg to determine the performance on soil coverage and draft requirement.

These notes build upon a course I taught at the University of Maryland during the fall of 1983. My great thanks go to Martino Bardi, who took careful notes, saved them all these years and recently mailed them to me. Faye Yeager typed up his notes into a first draft of these lectures as they now appear.

Our empirical findings are robust to controlling for individual fixed-effects, expe- rience, year effects, team, home ballpark characteristics, and managerial quality. The inclusion of individual fixed-effects means that the results cannot be explained by assorta- tive matching between complementary or substitutable players at the team level, since the analysis is exploiting variation over time within a given player’s performance.

The First Five Year Plan (1955-60) document mentions a number of problems facing the livestock sector. 3 Livestock herds had been depleted when evacuees took livestock heads with them while the incoming refugees slaughtered livestock to meet their food needs. The imbalance between supply and demand worsened further because the proportion of meat eaters in the population increased. 4 The requirements for draft power in agriculture placed further demands on the meager livestock population.

Metadata associated with each document indicate its status in the process, and it changes as each task is completed: first draft, edited, final draft, translated, published. In this example the sequence of tasks is linear, even if the document edited must be revised by the Author before going to the next step. Workflow processes can be more complex; for example, they can include parallel flows, multiple feedback or control loops.

The deferral of the mandatory IFRS changeover date to January 1, 2014 is to prevent Canadian investment companies and segregated accounts of life insurance enterprises from having to change their current accounting treatment for controlled investees while the IASB finalizes its proposed investment entities standard. Under IFRS 10 Consolidated Financial Statements, investment companies are required to consolidate their controlled investments.

This volume represents the collected and edited papers of the second biennial Oxford Anglo-German law conference held at St. John’s College, Oxford, on 13–15 September 2001. The conference series, jointly organised by leading German and English law firms and the Oxford University Law Faculty and hosted by Oxford, was the brainchild of Nikolas Tarling, and its purpose is to provide a congenial forum for discussion of key issues in fields of mutual inter- est by comparisons and contrasts between English and German law in the con- text of international and European Community developments.

The Guest Editors of this volume agreed in advance on the order listed on the title page, although equal editorial effort should be recognized. Vadim Birstein, Robert Boyle and John Waldman convened the 1994 conference that was the source for the original drafts of most of the manuscripts included in this collection. William Bemis put the volume in final shape; he is also responsible for safeguarding the standards of all contributions as the editorial representative of Environmental Biology of Fishes.

In 1976, the American Thoracic Society (ATS) published brief guidelines for the investigation, diagnostic evaluation, and medical treatment of TB contacts. Although investigation of contacts and treatment of infected contacts is an important component of the U.S. strategy for TB elimination, second in priority to treatment of persons with TB disease, national guidelines have not been updated since 1976.

This thesis describes the development, implementation and preliminary results of the Arginine and Vitamin D Adjunctive Therapy in Pulmonary Tuberculosis (AVDAPT) randomised controlled trial. I had a central role in developing and implementing the study protocol collaboratively with my PhD supervisors Associate Professor Paul Kelly (Australian National University, Canberra) and Professor Nicholas Anstey (Menzies School of Health Research, Darwin), and with additional input from the investigators listed in Appendix 1.
