Odisha is important for cereal crop. In Odisha region the adverse climatic condition is the main cause for lower productivity. Whereas per the different climatic change scenario (RCP 2.6, 4.5, 6.0, and 8.5) at Odisha region for rice crop of variety Khandagiri and Lalat in 2020, 2050 and 2080 projected years.

An experiment was conducted during kharif 2015 and 2016 at Agro met Research Farm of NDUAT as to basis the yield forecast Yield Forecast of rice crop in Eastern U.P. using simulation Model. The genetic coefficients were determined by the Decision Support System for Agro Technology Transfer (DSSAT) model using the identical management and other conditions as in the field experiment for three varieties of rice (Sarooj-52, NDR-359 and Swarna).

The model performance in respect of phenology was good with error of ±5% for all the three cotton cultivars and growing environments. Also the model performance was within acceptable range of ±10.0% for LAI, seed cotton yield and biomass for all the cultivars and growing environments. But the model performance was not within acceptable range for the crop sown in 1st week of June.

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2011 to generate the ground truth data of maize crop at Crop Research Station Bahraich of N.D.U.A&T, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.) as to assess the “Evaluation of the DSSAT Crop Growth Model with Maize (Zea mays L.) Cultivars Validated for NEPZ Region of Eastern U.P.” The experiment was conducted in Split Plot Design. The treatment comprised of three dates of sowing viz. 20th June (D1), 30th June (D2) and 10th July 2011 (D3) kept as main plot with three varieties viz. Seed Tech -940 (V1), ProAgro-4212 (V2) and HQPM-1 (V3) kept as sub plot.

It would be preferable to use a reliable crop growth model for studies on climate change impact assessment. The objectives of this study were to evaluate simulation performance for models CERES-Maize included in the DSSAT model (version 4.5) in terms of yield. Three hybrids D.S 900M, Pinnacle and CP818 were grown under four dates June II FN, July I FN, July II FN and August I FN during kharif season, 2016 at S.V. Agricultural college, Tirupati to study the ‘Seasonal influence on yield of maize and its validation with CERES-Maize model’.

Changes of climate will be one of the deciding factors that affect for future food production in the world because crop growth is highly sensitive to any changes of climatic conditions. As the rice is staple food of Odisha, it is essential to identify the impacts of climate changes on State’s rice production. This study was conducted to identify the yield and growth changes of the popular rice variety (Swarna) cultivated in Keonjhar district at kharif season.

An experiment was conducted to study crop growth modeling at the paddy field of ICAR- Indian Institute of Water Management during Kharif 2016. The CERES-Rice model of DSSAT 4.5 was used to simulate crop growth and yield; Validation results showed that model predicted number of days to flowering with the RMSE values of 0.98. Four days difference was recorded between observed and simulated days to flowering in different varieties.

A field experiment of rice crop was conducted during Kharif season 2016 at Agrometeorological Research Farm of N.D.U.A&T, of Kumarganj, Faizabad. The experiment was conducted in Randomized Block Design. The treatment comprised of three dates of Transplanting viz. 5th July (D1); 15th July (D2) and 25th July (D3) with three varieties viz. NDR-80 (V1); Pant Dhan-4 (V2) and Swarna (V3). In this study, DSSAT-CERES model was used to assess the impact of temperature on productivity of crop.

Assessment of impact of temperature and CO2 on growth and yield of rice crop using DSSAT model has been made to assess the impact of these two parameters on the productivity of rice crop at south Gujarat region. For this purpose CERES-Rice model v4.6.1 was used in which the experimental result of rice during kharif, 2016 used as baseline to assess the rice yield under different climatic variability. Crop production is inherently to variability in climate.
