Ebook "Environmental management accounting: Informational and institutional developments" gives a comprehensive coverage of the state of the art. It presents a number of EMA frameworks that companies can take as a basis for implementing their own specific EMA structures. Besides discussing environmental accounting issues within conventional management accounting, it gives a detailed picture of materials flow (cost) accounting as an alternative way of looking at the ecology-economy relationships at the corporate level.

This research thesis seeks to understand how governments, the legal system and the people responsible for construction can be encouraged to incorporate sustainable design in all building developments. Most important within this research is to question the lack of checks of ESD conducted from the planning permit through to the construction phase or on completion of a building.

This study proposes applying cold-bonded low calcium Class F fly ash (FFA) based artificial lightweight aggregate (ALWA) to partially replace natural fine aggregate in an ecological unfired brick with a low energy super-sulfated cement (SSC). To estimate the influence of ALWA on the brick properties, natural fine aggregate (FA) in the reference brick was substituted with ALWA at four different amounts of 25, 50, 75 and 100% by volume.

The maintenance and resilience of tidal flats have become critical concerns in ecological planning for coastal areas, and high-qualified maps are expected to provide worthwhile references to the authorities. Owing to the booming developments in remote sensing systems and high-performance cloud computing services, several frameworks were proposed to map tidal flats on large spatiotemporal scales.

What is a healthy microbiome? The pursuit of this and many related questions, especially in light of the recently recognized microbial component in a wide range of diseases has sparked a surge in metagenomic studies. They are often not simply attributable to a single pathogen but rather are the result of complex ecological processes.

Plants are not capable of running away from their enemies, i.e., the herbivores that may eat them. However, under certain circumstances, plants can rely on the natural enemies of insect herbivores for protection. These natural enemies include other insects that are predators and parasitoids. Habitat manipulation, which is also referred to as “Ecological Engineering”, focuses on reducing mortality of natural enemies, providing the supplementary resources and manipulating host plant attributes for the benefit of natural bio-agents.

Ecological engineering and ecofriendly pest and disease management strategies in paddy is the need of the hour because of reduction in natural enemies population in rice ecosystem due to indiscriminate use of pesticides. Ecological Engineering and ecofriendly pest and disease management strategies in paddy was demonstrated in the farmers’ field as Front Line Demonstration in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu. In the demonstration plot the dead heart symptoms was 3.63% and white ear was 0.86% compared to 13.29% and 2.

In this article, the considered problem of Cauchy reaction diffusion equation of fractional order is solved by using integral transform of Laplace coupled with decomposition technique due to Adomian scheme. This combination led us to a hybrid method which has been properly used to handle nonlinear and linear problems. The considered problem is used in modeling spatial effects in engineering, biology and ecology. The fractional derivative is considered in Caputo sense. The results are obtained in series form corresponding to the proposed problem of fractional order.
