Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) testing is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique that has been widely used in various applications, including the detection and characterization of defects in metallic materials. The measurement of pulsed eddy current signals is essential for this purpose. This study proposes a novel multi-sensor PEC approach for improved defect detection.

In this paper, the subproblem method with using edge finite elements is proposed for coupling subproblems via several steps to treat and deal with some troubles regarding to electromagnetic problems that gets quite difficulties when directly applying a finite element method. In the strategy subproblem method, it allows a complete problem to define into several subproblems with adapted dimensions. Each subproblem can be solved on its independent domain and mesh without performing in whole domain or mesh. This easily supports meshing and decreases computing time.

In this article, we propose a two-process coupling subproblem technique for improving the errors that overcome thin shell assumptions. This technique is based on the subproblem method to couple SPs in two-processes. The first scenario is an initial problem solved with coils/stranded inductors together with thin region models. The obtained solutions are then considered as volume sources for the second scenario, including actual volume improvements that scope with the thin shell assumptions.

An Eddy current damper uses magnets to suppress vibrations due to external excitations. These dampers also called electromagnetic dampers, have advantages of no mechanical contact, high reliability and stability, but require a relatively large volume and mass to attain a given amount of damping.

Inductive proximity sensors are widely used in various applications to detect metal devices. They consist of an oscillator, trigger, and switching amplifier. If a metal object enters the electromagnetic field of the oscillator coil, eddy currents are induced in this coil which change the amplitude of oscillation, which causes the trigger stage to trip and the semiconductor output stage to switch.
