Educating cultural behaviors in school

This article is the results of a survey on students about the level of response to the standards of student behavior, reflected in the student's relationships with other members of the school community, the student’s relationship with himself and student interaction with the physical environment, the natural environment of the school, thereby pointing out the current state of the behavioral culture of pedagogical students at Hanoi National University of Education.

This article focuses on analyzing the status of pedagogical students' awareness of cultural behaviors in school, methods to raise their awareness of cultural behaviors in school. The empirical results of the study also indicate that we can raise students' awareness of cultural behaviors through integration with core academic subjects.

There are a number of compelling reasons for all physicians to possess knowledge and skill in the behavioral and social sciences. Perhaps most important is that roughly half of the causes of mortality in the United States are linked to social and behavioral factors. In addition, our nation’s population is aging and becoming more culturally diverse. Both of these trends highlight the need for enhanced physician capabilities in the behavioral and social sciences.

Latina/os are now the largest and fastest growing minority group in the United States, representing approximately 33 million in the year 2000, and two thirds of them are Chicana/os. However, there are major differences among Latino subgroups in terms of their cultural characteristics, immigration experiences, history, socioeconomic levels, and other important factors. It is no longer appropriate to negate these differences or to assume that all Latinos share similar psychological issues (McNeill et al., 2001).

Comprehensive sexuality education is effective in improving key youth reproductive health (YRH) behaviors. In a wide range of settings in both developed and developing nations, comprehensive school- based sexuality education has influenced important behaviors such as delaying sexual initiation, reducing the number of sexual partners, and increasing use of condoms among youth who are sexually active. This finding bodes well for Nigeria, a country with considerable linguistic and cultural diversity.
