  • This research, which uses methods of evaluating economic values, aims to quantitatively assess the extent of damage caused by SLR on an area of mangrove forests in Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province. The valuation of these impacts will provide a basis for scientists, research institutions, and localities to proactively mitigate and adapt to climate change. Research results show the damage of climate change and SLR to the coastal mangrove forests in Giao Thuy and the risk to agricultural land use in the Nghia Hung and Hai Hau districts.

  • Climate change is an emerging global issue. It is expected to have significant impacts both in Egypt and around the world. Thus, the country is in need for taking action to prepare for the unavoidable effects of climate change, including the increase in water stress, the rise in sea level, and the rapidly increasing gap between the limited water availability and the escalating demand for water in the country. Also, weather and climate play a significant role in people’s health.

  • Rice area of the Mekong Delta (MD) has decreased in recent years, especially the shift from rice land into land for industrial parks and saline land due to sea level rise and effects of climate change. In addition, the rate of population growth also requires increasingly high demand for rice in the region. By using the model, results showed that the population of the Mekong Delta will be at 26,956.5 thousand inhabitants,

  • Cimate change is one of the most important global environmental problems facing the world today. Evidence of a changing climate is all around us, from rising sea level to retreating mountain glaciers, melting Arctic sea ice, lengthening growing seasons, shifting animal migration patterns, and other changes. Such changes are already having adverse impacts on people’s well-being, as climate change amplifies the effects of other environmental and socioeconomic changes and problems and produces new effects of its own.

  • Climate change (CC) is one of the most significant challenges facing human beings in the 21st century. CC will seriously affect lives, production and environment worldwide. It also leads to the increasing temperature and one of its consequences is sea level rise, resulting in unpredicted changes of the river flow. This may cause more severe floods, serious drought and water shortage, further to continent of the salinity intrusions and negatively effect on the human’s lives, socio-economic development.

  • Beside the effect of gravitational forces, the water level in Sai Gon-Dong Nai River System is also affected by non gravitational forces such a wind, air pressure, rainfall and sea level rise. The purpose of this paper is to simulate the water level of these river based on the tidal and non-tidal constituents, from that assess the role of non-tidal constituents to water variation. In this study, the none-tidal data used includes the wind field at surface, sea level pressure and the rainfall in Sai Gon- Dong Nai Basin. With the analyzed data series from 1980 to 2007, the results...

  • Greenhouse gases are accumulating in Earth’s atmosphere as a result of human activities, causing surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures to rise. Temperatures are, in fact, rising. The changes observed over the last several decades are likely mostly due to human activities, but we cannot rule out that some significant part of these changes is also a reflection of natural variability. Human-induced warming and associated sea level rises are expected to continue through the 21st century.
