In the paper "Thermal buckling of P-FGM sandwich beam with porous core on elastic foundation", a coupled effect of thermal and electrical loadings on the thermal buckling behavior of functionally graded material (FGM) sandwich beam resting on Pasternak foundation is investigated. The symmetric multi-layered beam consists of a foam core, two middle FGM layers, and two outer piezoelectric layers. It is assumed that the beam is subjected to a constant voltage and a uniform/linear temperature rise.

In addition, we also show that our present solutions are valid for the problems of indentation by a rigid punch on an elastic half-space through a proper replacement of the contact radius and the corresponding material constant. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the accuracy, applicability, and versatility of the developed solutions.

Ebook "Viscoelastic properties of polymers" provides basic information for practical applications, and graduate students in chemistry and engineering will find, in its illustrations with real data and real numbers, an accessible introduction to the principles of viscoelasticity. Viscoelastic behavior reflects the combined viscous and elastic responses, under mechanical stress, of materials which are intermediate between liquids and solids in character.

This paper presents the finite element algorithm and results on dynamic response of cracked plate structure on elastic foundation subjected to moving oscillator with a constant velocity and any motion orbit. The response to a single moving oscillator is first investigated and then the effects of crack, velocity, elastic foundation stiffness, and stiffness of the spring of moving oscillator are studied.

In this article, the axisymmetric stability of an elastic annular plate with distributed internal heat source under uniform constant compressive radial loading at the outer edge is investigated. The governing and compatibility equations of the annular plate are taken from modified Karman’s equations, which are solved by the shooting method.

This paper presents the theoretical concept used to estimate the Constant Elasticity of Substitution (CES) and Constant Elasticity of Transformation (CET) parameters. Applying the maximum entropy method, the study tries to estimate trade parameters, i.e. CES and CET, the value of which are just assumed in many CGE models.

This paper estimated the degree of elasticity substitution of inputs, particularly young labor, older labor, and physical capital. The elasticity of input substitution was estimated using a nested constant elasticity of substitution (CES) production function and nonlinear regression analysis. Research data were obtained from the annual secondary data of government sources from 1990 to 2013. The findings indicated that the input substitutability of young and older labor was low. However, capital and labor could substitute for each other.

This research presents a continuous element model for solving vibration problems of FG stepped truncated conical shells having various material properties and surrounded by Pasternak foundations. Based on the First Order Shear Deformation Theory (FSDT) and the equations of the FGM conical shells, the dynamic stiffness matrix is obtained for each segment of the shell having constant thickness.

In the present study, we developed a formalism based on the statistical moment method (SMM) for pure ceria crystal using the Bukingham potential for investigation of the lattice constant and elastic moduli of yttria-doped ceria crystal including the anharmonicity effects of thermal lattice vibrations. The lattice constant and elastic moduli are calculated as functions of the dopant concentration, temperature and pressure. Our results predict that the lattice constant and elastic moduli decrease rapily with the pressure in agreement with experimental results (in the case pure ceria).
