Lung fibrosis is a serious life-threatening condition whose manifestation varies according to the localization and characteristics of fibroblasts, which are considered heterogeneous. Therefore, to better understand the pathology and improve diagnosis and treatment of this disease, it is necessary to elucidate the nature of this heterogeneity and identify markers for the accurate classification of human lung fibroblast subtypes.

Elastofibroma is a benign soft tissue tumor characterized by the presence of elastic fibers in a stroma of collagen and mature adipose tissue. It is reported to have a prevalence of 2.73%, as shown by a study through computed tomography (CT) images. However, multiple elastofibromas are uncommon.

The present study was conducted on the 24 goat foeti of either sex ranging from 42 days to full term of gestation. The material was divided into early prenatal (0 to 50 days), mid prenatal (51 to 100 days) and late prenatal (101 to till term) periods. In all goat foetuses the pancreas lied in the abdominal cavity partly on right and partly on left side of median plane. Tissue processing was done with routine histological technique. Up to 59 days gestation the reticular fibers, collagen fibers and elastic fibers were absent in foetal goat pancreas.

Scanning electron micrographic observations of renal arteries of goat and pig which revealed a thin tunica intima enveloped by packed layer of smooth muscle cells in media in both species. Endothelium was wavy in outline on internal aspect of renal arteries in goats and pigs. It presented cushion like foldings which were aligned across the longitudinal axis of the artery. Outer parts of tunica media were anchored by fine collagen fibrils and elastic fibers to the collagen tissue in adventitia. In case of pig, tunica adventitia of renal arteries was relatively thicker than that of the goat.

The present study was conducted on 24 Uttara fowl. The histological, histomorphometrical and histochemical features with their age related changes in large intestine were studied. The surface epithelium in both caeca and colorectum was lined by simple columnar epithelium with interspersed goblet cells. Finger like villous projections were seen in the tunica mucosa. PAS- Alcian blue reaction was showed by all the segments of caecum as well as colorectum.

Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease manifested by painful digital ulcers, joint contracture and skin thickening. Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) have become a recent focus of interest in tissue regeneration. The aim of this work was to study the changes of elastic fibers in localized scleroderma model in thin skin of adult male albino rat and the possible curative role of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells.

The effectiveness of powdered emulsions (powdered cement modifiers) and aqueous polymer dispersions (aqueous cement modifiers) on improvements in strength and elastic properties of mortars is investigated in this paper. Polymer-modified mortars using various powdered and aqueous cement modifiers were prepared with variation in polymer-cement ratio, and tested for flexural strength, compressive strength, tensile strength, deflection, extreme tensile fiber strain and tensile strain.

Microfibrils and elastin are major constituents of elastic fibers, the assembly of which is dictated by multimolecular interactions.Microfibril-associated glycoprotein-1 (MAGP-1) is a microfibrillar component that interacts with the sol-uble elastin precursor, tropoelastin. We describe here the adaptation of a solid-phase binding assay that defines the effect of divalent cations on the interactions between MAGP-1 and tropoelastin. Using this assay, a strong cal-cium-dependent interaction was demonstrated, with a dis-sociation constant of 2.8 ± 0.3 nM, which fits a single-site binding model.

Soft Linen Minnie’s Cover Up Soft Linen 35% linen, 35% wool, 30% baby alpaca Soft Linen is composed of an interesting blend of fibers: Cool, crisp linen, soft, warm alpaca, and elastic wool. Together they make a soft yarn that’s comfortable to wear all year round. Garments knitted in Soft Linen have a nice drape while providing just the right amount of warmth. When knit in an airy lace pattern Soft Linen is great for transitional garments like Grace’s top. Wear it over a tank in warm weather or over long sleeves when the weather gets cooler....

About a decade ago, the elastic properties of a single chromatin fiber and, subsequently, those of a single nucleosome started to be explored using optical and magnetic tweezers. These techniques have allowed direct mea-surements of several essential physical parameters of individual nucleo-somes and nucleosomal arrays, including the forces responsible for the maintenance of the structure of both the chromatin fiber and the individual nucleosomes
