Ebook "The root canal biofilm (Volume 9)" presents the current state of research on the basic scientific aspects of root canal biofilm biology within a clinically applicable context. Root canal biofilms are complex polymicrobial structures adhering to the root canal surface that are formed by microorganisms invading the pulpal space of teeth, and are associated with persistent root canal infections.

Therefore, in order to contribute to more understanding and improve the effectiveness of endodontic treatment with niti rotary instrument systems we carry out the research: “Outcome Evaluation of endodontic treatment with Protaper rotary instrument system on maxillary incisors" with two aims: 1. To evaluate root canal sealing results with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) 2. To evaluate the outcomes of maxillary incisor root canal treatment with the Protaper rotary instrument system.

With the desire to apply science and technology into clinical pratice, we carry out this study: "Analysis of root canal characteristics of maxillary incisors with cone beam computed tomography” with the 2 aims: 1. To evaluate the number of root canals in maxillary incisors. 2. To analyze curvature and morphology of the root canal system in maxillary incisors.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of three sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl)-endodontic irrigation procedures used alone or in combinations with two intermediate dressing materials on bond strengths of two adhesive composite systems to coronal dentin. Surfaces were treated with NaOCl or NaOCl–Glyde-File-Prep (H2O2 and EDTA) with or without chlorhexidine (CHX) as a final rinse. Intermediate dressing materials of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) and sodium perborate (SP) were combined with surface treatments. Surface treatment groups (n = 10/group) included (1) distilled water (control), (2) 5.

Since not all the dental discolorations can be bleached effectively, it is important to recognize the etiology of discoloration and to communicate the information to the patient, along with the available treatment options, alternative treatment, and their potential outcomes. Nonvital bleaching is indicated when the discoloration is due to pulpal necrosis, pulpal hemorrhage, endodontic filling materials, or mild to moderate tetracycline staining. The most important prerequisite for internal bleaching of a tooth is the quality of the endodontic therapy.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my principal supervisor Dr. Ernest Lam for his support and supervision in carrying out this project. His knowledge, direction and input throughout this project were invaluable. Importantly, I would like to thank and acknowledge Dr. Shimon Friedman for giving me the opportunity to be part of the Graduate Endodontic program at the University of Toronto. The endless hours he contributed along with his knowledge, guidance and support were truly appreciated. It is an honor to call him my mentor. I would also like to thank Dr.

This study characterized maxillary sinus mucositis (SIMS) adjacent to teeth with apical periodontitis (AP), and assessed its resolution three months after endodontic treatment. 29 subjects who maxillary posterior teeth with AP were imaged with cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Resolution of SIMS was assessed with CBCT three months after treatment, and periapical healing was assessed using the PAI after six months. Four non-compliant subjects were discontinued and SIMS was identified in 14/25 subjects (56%).

Operative dentistry is a significant part of clinical dentistry, with practitioners in the UK spending more than 60% of their time placing and replacing direct restorations. In tandem with this many root canal treatments are carried out and increasingly more indirect restorations are placed. All practitioners whatever their discipline will remember developing their manual skills while engaged in these procedures during their student days.
