Metal chalcohalides are promising candidates for next-generation technologies that include energy conversion, information storage, and quantum computing. Among them, antimony selenoiodide (SbSeI) has received rising interest for different optoelectronic devices, including photovoltaics, due to its bandgap energy, strong optical absorption, stability, and earth abundant, low-cost, and low toxicity constituents.

Microstructural, optical, AC dielectric impedance, and conductivity properties of pure PVA and PVA: NaSe SCF samples doped with various NaSe salt fillers were investigated. The XRD study confirmed the semicrystalline structure of the PolVA:NaSe SCF samples which explicated the semi-crystalline nature of the pure PolVA as a matrix.

The temperature dependence of the bandgap energies of the QDQW’s core and well layer was well described using the Varshni expression. Evidence of the existence of “local wells” in the QDQW’s well layer that leads to a more significant change in the maximum position and full width at half maximum of the well’s emission peak compared to the core’s counterpart was discovered.

Metal oxide nanomaterials are widely used in many applications of renewable energy. Ytterbium oxide (Yb2 O3 ) also attracts attention due to its similar structure to ZnO (~3,26 eV) and TiO2 (~3,36 eV) in terms of bandgap energy. In this study, Yb2 O3 belonging to the lanthanide oxide family was produced as nanofiber forms by using the electrospinning technique, which allows for large-scale production, for the first time.

Zinc oxide (ZnO) is one of the most promising oxide possibilities for use in a number of industries due to its unique properties. Because of its broad direct bandgap (3.37 eV) and strong exciton binding energy (60 meV) at ambient temperature, ZnO not only conducts electricity well but also transmits visible light and emits UV light.

Lecture Electronic materials - Chapter 9: Photogeneration, absorption, and nonequilibrium provide students with knowledge about if a is small (near bandgap light), the generation profile can be approximately constant. If a is large (light with energy>> bandgap), the generation profile can be approximated as at the surface.

Optimized geometries, formation energy, phonon spectra, electronic band structure, and elastic tensor calculation has ensured the energetically, dynamical and mechanical stability for the sheets. Furthermore, the theoretically found nanosheet series possess an intrinsic wide direct band gap preserving from wurtzite tetragonal-based bonding. This high symmetry wide bandgap semiconductor nanosheet series and their derivatives are expected to have broad applications in photocatalysis, and biomedicine.

Designing an effective photocatalyst for hydrogen (H2) performance under visible irradiation with a decrease the bandgap energy of semiconductor has been considered as an essential aspect in boosting the performance of photocatalytic reactions for hydrogen performance from the water-splitting process. Herein, we focus on evaluating the role of doping with Ir into SrTiO3 structure fabricated by the hydrothermal method for H2 generation.

Silicon Carbide (SiC) and its polytypes have been a part of human civilization for a long time; the technical interest of this hard and stable compound has been realized in 1885 and 1892 by Cowless and Acheson for grinding and cutting purpose, leading to its manufacture on a large scale. The fundamental physical limitations of Si operation at higher temperature and power are the strongest motivations for switching to wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductors such as SiC for these applications.

This book deal with the modern developing of microwave and millimeter wave technologies. The first chapter is aimed at describing the evolution of technological processes for the design of passive functions in millimetre-wave frequency range. From the results HR SOI seems to be a good candidate in the coming year to address both low cost and low power mass market CMOS digital and RF/ MMW applications.
