Highly crosslinked, inorganic-organic hybrid and intrinsically fluorescent polyphosphazene nanospheres bearing hydroxyl groups on the surface are facilely generated via a one-pot polycondensation of octachlorocyclotetraphosphazene, fluorescein and quercetin. The resulting nanospheres were characterised by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), dynamic light scattering (DLS), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and ultravioletvisible spectroscopy (UV-vis) techniques.

This paper focuses on activation of oxygen isotopes in water and decay of this activated isotopes, i.e. 16N, 17N and 19O. An analysis of activation of water in pressurized water reactors and in fusion reactors was performed. Different evaluated nuclear data libraries were used in activation calculations (ENDF/B-VIII.0, FENDL-3.1b, JEFF-3.2 and TENDL-2015).

STRAD project for systematic treatments of radioactive liquid wastes generated in nuclear facilities
A new collaborative research project for systematic treatments of radioactive liquid wastes containing various reagents generating in nuclear facilities was started from 2018 initiated by Japan Atomic Energy Agency. The project was named as STRAD (Systematic Treatments of RAdioactive liquid wastes for Decommissioning) project.

Reliability of Power System research has a long history. The topic includes three levels: the first relates to generation facilities, the second refers to the integration of generation and transmission, the third one refers to the complete system including distribution system. The first level is a basic step for the next level, still being interested, especially on researches on the renewable energy sources integration.

The Urban Environment is important for all of us, not least because so many of us live in cities. Cleaner city, healthy life and a better environment are important demands for city dwellers. Due to increase in urbanization rate, population density and per capita production of solid waste is also increasing. According to MSW Rules, 2000, every municipal authority is responsible for setting up a waste processing and disposal facility. Approximately 50 million metric tonnes (115,000 metric tonnes per day) of solid waste is generated every year by the urban population in India.

The Krasnodar territory is considered one of most attractive regions in Russia in terms of its climatic characteristics for the development of renewable energy sources. According to the current plans of Russian Ministry of Energy, the cumulative capacity of wind generating facilities in the Krasnodar Territory will reach 405 MW by 2022. It is well known form the literature, the average installed capacity utilization factor of wind turbines currently is about 30%.

This study focuses on defining the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from treatment of municipal solid waste (MSW) in Ha Noi city. Firstly, the MSW samplings at Nam Son and Xuan Son landfills were collected to identify the components. Based on the statistical data on the amount and ratio of MSW collected, the volume of MSW treated by different technologies was estimated. Then, the GHG emissions were quantified by applying the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2006 model. The annual GHG released from MSW in Ha Noi in 2017 was 1.1 million tons of CO2e from landfilling, 16.

The purpose of the present work is to produce and thus increase the amount of shielding data on neutrons generated by high-energy heavy ion beams based on the RAON inflight fragment facility. Calculations were performed with the computational Monte Carlo codes PHITS and MCNPX. The secondary neutron source terms were evaluated at 550 MeV/u for Ca, Kr, and Sn and at 400 MeV/u for U ions on a graphite target. Source terms and attenuation lengths were obtained by fitting the ambient dose equivalent inside an ordinary concrete shield.

Cogeneration is frequently defined as the sequential production of necessary heat and power (electrical or mechanical) or the recovery of low-level energy for power production. This sequential energy production yields fuel savings relative to separate energy production facilities because both the heat and power requirements are satisfied from a common/single fuel source.

This paper focuses primarily on application considerations for topping cogeneration cycles. For comparative purposes Figure 1 illustrates energy utilization effectiveness (the percent of total energy output from the cycle which is useful heat and/or power) for a typical non-reheat coal- fired utility/industrial plant configuration (three-stage feed water heating with steam conditions of 1450 psig / 950°F [101 bar / 510°C] steam conditions vs. a cogeneration facility utilizing the same fired boiler but with a non-condensing steam turbine generator that supplies steam to process.

There are also institutional issues to resolve. A path-dependent technology pattern has developed in the energy field that encourages the current centralized generation model of energy supply. When shifting away the capital investments in technology from centrally planned facilities toward distributed generation, renewable energy technologies and their prospective customers must fight against a tide of perceptions, practices, and market structures designed to facilitate the old central-station ways.

In recognition of the fact that the potential for release of particulate plutonium and transplutonium alpha-emitting elements from nuclear power generation facilities poses questions concerning spatial distribution of dose and the resultant biological effects, the NCRP initiated a new NCRP activity concerned with alpha-emitting particles in lungs. It was not intended that a complete review of the subject would be prepared.
