  • The research paper aims to explore the role of group dynamics in language learning. Some principles for teachers to take the most advantage of group dynamics in language pedagogy are then suggested. Last but not least, from these principles, some strategies were applied to real language classrooms of Englishmajored students at HUTECH to help them keep up with the current level of the class, motivate them to learn and make the lessons more interesting and more useful.

  • This paper reports the results of a project on exploring the language input of reading texts in a book series used in teaching reading for first-year English-major students at University of Foreign languages, Hue University. It aims at investigating text topics, genres, length, language difficulty level, and students’ as well as teachers’ perceptions of the studied texts in an attempt to facilitate students’ reading comprehension. Thirty-two reading texts were studied by using a descriptive-analytical approach.

  • This paper endeavors to present the findings of a study on the writing difficulties in terms of six aspects in academic writing, namely organization/sequence, vocabulary/spelling, grammar, supporting ideas, punctuation/capitalization, and unity and coherence encountered by Englishmajored students. The research participants were 126 English-majored students from a higher education institution in Lam Dong province, Vietnam. The participants took part in answering closed-ended questionnaires.

  • This paper, therefore, aims at presenting a study of the writing self-efficacy of Englishmajored students at the context of The University of Dalat in Lam Dong province, Vietnam. This study involved 179 senior English-majored students in answering closed-ended questionnaires and 15 students in participating in semi-structured interviews. Quantitative data from questionnaire were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 in terms of descriptive statistics, while qualitative data from interviews were analyzed employing the content analysis approach.

  • This study aimed at examining matches or mismatches between teachers’ and students’ preferences regarding different types of corrective feedback in EFL (English as a foreign language) speaking classrooms at a Vietnamese university. Observation and two parallel questionnaires adapted from Katayama (2007) and Smith (2010) were used to gather data from five EFL teachers and 138 Englishmajored students. Multiple findings pertaining to each research question were revealed.
