Astragalus nurhakdagensis, a new species from the south of Turkey was described, illustrated, and compared to the closest taxa Astragalus hirsutus, A. dumanii and A. cataonicus from which it is set apart by a longer calyx length (13–14 mm) and calyx teeth (7–9 mm, longer than tube), white corolla colour, longer bracts (13–15 mm) and black hairy stripes below the stem nodes. In A. hirsutus, the calyx length (6–10 mm) and calyx teeth are much smaller (2–3 mm long, shorter than tube), with yellow corolla colour and without black hairy stripes. It also differs from A.

Asperula cankiriense B.Şahin & Sağıroğlu, a new species discovered in the central Anatolian region of Turkey (Çankırı), is described herein. A. cankiriense is similar to Asperula bornmuelleri Velen. However, A. cankiriense differs mainly in its habitus, stem, leaves, and inflorescence features. In this study, the diagnostic morphological features, distribution, habitat and ecology, etymology, conservation status, and taxonomic features of the new species are discussed. Additionally, pollen micromorphological characteristics of A. cankiriense and A.

The present experiment was conducted to study correlation and path analysis for yield and quality traits of 28 genotypes. Significant variations were found among the genotypes for characters studied. The correlation coefficient analysis at genotypic level revealed that fruit yield per vine had positive and significant association with fruit number per vine (0.85), fruit weight (0.613), fruit equatorial diameter (0.53), ascorbic acid content (0.69) and crude fibre content (0.49).

An experiment was conducted at Vegetable Research farm, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar during2018 to explore the possibility of growing Kharif onion inBihar region for higher yield and economic return. A short day variety (Agrifound Dark Red) of Kharif onion was transplanted in three dates (21st July, 6th August and 22nd August) with seven PGRs concentrations (control (water spray), Ethephon 2000ppm,2500 and 3000ppm) and Cycocel (1500ppm2000and 2500ppm) in split- plot design with three replications.

Effect of sources and graded levels of sulphur on growth and yield of bellary onion (Allium cepa L.)
A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of different sources and graded levels of sulphur on growth, yield attributes and yield of bellary onion at National Institute for Abiotic Stress Management, Malegaon Khurd, Baramati, Pune, Maharashtra. The treatments comprised of three sources of sulphur (Elemental sulphur- Bentonite clay, Potassium schoenite and ammonium sulphate) with graded levels of sulphur viz., 0, 30, 45 and 60 kg S ha-1 . The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with four replications.

The present investigation entitled “Effect of Integrated Nutrient Management on Growth, Yield and Quality of Cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata L.)’’ was conducted at the experimental farm of the faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries, Rama University, Mandhana, Kanpur (U.P.) during 2018-19. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with three replications comprising of 8 treatment combinations. The treatments were T1: Control, T2: Nitrogen + Vermicompost, T3: Nitrogen+ F.Y.M, T4: Zn + Nitrogen, T5: Phosphorus + F.Y.

The present investigation entitled “Genetic evaluation of CMS lines and their maintainers for yield and horticultural traits in cabbage (Brassica oleracea var.capitataL.)” was carried out at „Vegetable Research Farm‟ of the Department of Vegetable Science and Floriculture, CSKHPKV Palampur with the objectives to identify the promising CMS lines and their maintainers and to find out genetic variability. High yielding CMS lines with good combining ability is a pre-requisitefor hybrid development in cabbage.

The objective of this work was to study the reproductive biology in four nerium cultivars. Anthesis, anther dehiscence, stigma receptivity, flower and fruit morphology, pollen morphology and production, ovule production and pollen ovule ratio were studied. Anthesis in nerium cultivars started from 5.30 a.m. and reached the peak by 6.30 a.m. except in yellow cultivar (6.30 to 7.30 am). Nerium flowers are protandrous in nature and the anthers dehisced by longitudinal slit just before the anthesis. Anther dehiscence started at 5.30 a.m. and maximum anther dehisce was observed between 5.

Comparative evaluation of garlic (Allium sativum L.) genotypes in Kanthalloor, Idukki, Kerala, India
Ten garlic genotypes of released varieties and local cultivar were evaluated during the period May to September 2017 at farmer’s fields in two locations of Kanthalloor panchayat of Idukki district. The results showed that the genotypes differed significantly in both yield and quality aspects. The local cultivar and Yamuna safed-3 recorded highest equatorial diameter and bulb weight. The number of cloves per bulb was as high as 16 in AAS-2. The genotype Yamuna safed-3 recorded a highest yield of 1.19Kg/2m2 followed by local cultivar and Ooty-1 (0.90Kg/2m2 and 0.89Kg/2m2 respectively).

Tomato is one of the most popular and widely grown vegetables in the world which ranks next to potato. Although tomato is generally grown under irrigated conditions, its cultivation as a rainfed crop has gained importance particularly in semi-arid regions. It has been established that stress due to water deficit is a very important limiting factor at the initial phase of plant growth and establishment. Studies on physiological evaluation of tomato genotypes is limiting in the drought stress condition.

Seed priming is one of the pre-sowing seed management techniques where the seeds are partially soaked and subsequently dried back for invigorative effect that expresses on field emergence and extend up to yield. A field experiment was carried out to study the effect of different priming treatments on growth and bulb yield of onion during Rabi season. Seed of fresh and aged seed lots of onion cv. Agrifound Dark Red were subjected to hydro priming with distilled water for 24 hrs (T1), halo priming with 3% KNO3 for 12hrs (T2), osmo priming with PEG 6000 (-1.
