Research on the morphological characteristics, agronomics, pre-harvest germination resistance, and genetic diversity of some popular rice varieties grown in Binh Dinh province is essential in assessing material resources for selecting and developing new rice varieties that can adapt to climate change. The results show that there is one extra short-day variety, five short-day varieties, and three medium-day varieties.

Walnut (Juglans regia L.) is one of the most common nuts in the world. There are a wide walnut variety of genotypes that differ in forestry, physical and chemical properties. Most of the walnut genotypes, which are natural resources have been evaluated as promising and germplasm sources for breeding. Walnuts are high in many beneficial biochemical compounds, so they have a useful profile for many people in relation to disease risk. Therefore, the demand for production and consumption of walnut is increasing day by day.

The objective of the present work is to collect data on the virological environment of the wild yam species D.praehensilis and D.abyssinica still in domestication in the country. Specifically, it was a question of identifying the Potyviruses in general, on wild yams D. praehensilis and D. abyssinica in different environments and to evaluate, in particular, their sensitivities to YMV and YMMV.

The tree farming is ecologically as well as economically more viable than traditional agriculture. Investment in tree plantations always remained relatively low in India, inspite of the fact that the existing forests cannot continue to meet our wood requirements. However, realizing the existing problem, the expenditure on afforestation has increased enormously from fifth five year plan onwards but still the results on the land are not encouraging and we have not been able to increase area as well as the forest productivity to the desired level.

This study aimed to find the gene action, GCA and SCA effects for yield, its components and micronutrients and their association with each other. For this, thirty six crosses (hybrids), nine parents and two checks ICTP 8203 Fe and ICMB 98222 (totalling 47 genotypes) were evaluated during Kharif 2014 at three locations viz., IARI, New Delhi (zone A), IARI Regional Centre, Dharwad (zone B) and National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Regional Station, Jodhpur (zone A1). These locations represented all pearl millet growing zones.

This study aimed to evaluate the genetic diversity and to characterize nine pistillate parents of castor (Ricinus communis L.) germplasms by RAPD and SSR markers. The availability of diverse germplasm of any crop is an important genetic resource to mine the genes that may assist in attaining yield as well as quality.

Tomato is one of the most extensively cultivated vegetables and is a rich source of nutrients such as vitamins, antioxidants and minerals for a balanced human diet. World over, early blight (EB) caused by Alternaria solani Sorauer is limiting tomato production and causes great losses. In total, 350 tomato genotypes from ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (ICAR-NBPGR), New Delhi were evaluated for early blight resistance under epiphytotic conditions at ICARIndian Institute of Vegetable Research (ICAR-IIVR), Varanasi.

The evaluation study was conducted for different potato varieties and local genotypes collected from different parts of Chhattisgarh and screened against bacterial wilt and viral diseases complex. The locally collected genotypes have been further categorized on the basis of their distinct growth, yield, quality and disease and insect pest reactions behaviour. The study was carried-out at Department of Vegetable Science, IGKV, Raipur, Chhattisgarh in consecutive years i.e. 2013-14 to 2018-19.

Geographically and phenotypically diverse 860 G. hirsutum germplasm lines were evaluated under North Zone irrigated conditions of India during 2011-12 and 2012-13 for a different flower retention period, seed cotton yield and other desirable traits. The accessions initiate flowering at 60 days were having maturity period below 150 days, horizontal width less than 40 cm, hence showed suitability for high density cropping system (HDPS) for productivity enhancement. The accessions which flowers at 80 days are found to be semi spreading in nature.

Depiction of the genetic diversity, linkage disequilibrium (LD) and population structure is essential for the efficient organization and exploitation of genetic resources. The objectives of this study were to (i) to evaluate the genetic diversity and to detect the patterns of LD, (ii) to estimate the levels of population structure and (iii) to identify a ‘core collection’ suitable for association genetic studies in sweet cherry.

Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik subsp. culinaris) is an autogamous diploid (2n=2x=14), cool season food legume crop cultivated globally. Genomic resources in lentil are limited in comparison with other food legumes, primarily due to large genome size and lack of genetic variation. The present study was aimed to evaluate a set of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) derived from L9-12 × FLIP 2004-7L under irrigated condition and to identify the high yielding rust resistant recombinant inbred lines in lentil.

The preset investigation was consisted of evaluation of 92 finger millet accessions for qualitative morphological descriptors at Pantnagar Centre for Plant Genetic Resource, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Observations were recorded for sixteen qualitative characters on visual basis at different stages of development, as per DUS guidelines standardized by PPV&FR. Out of 92 accessions, most of the accessions exhibited erect growth (50 %), droopy ears (27.14%), dark green glume (58.70 %), non-pigmented leaf juncture (67.30 %), non-pubescent leaf sheath (33.

The objective of present study was evaluating the genetic variability in RIL population derived through intraspecific hybridization between RHAP 12 and RHAP 15 genotypes. The 222 RIL were evaluated during kharif 2018 at University of Agricultural Sciences Dharwad.
