  • The present study evaluated the effect of different colored plastic mulching viz. olive polythene film (OPF), silver polythene film (SPF), white polythene film (WPF), black polythene film (BPF) and blue polythene film (BLPF) on soil properties, growth, physiology, biochemical and mineral nutrient composition in onion bulbs. Soil properties at 0–10 cm depth are variably affected by colored polythene film mulches.

  • Aim of this prospective study was to evaluate mid-term clinical and radiographic outcomes in total hip arthroplasty using an acetabular cup made of an innovative biomaterial, Trabecular Titanium™, whose highly porous structure and mechanical properties have been designed to mimic those of the natural bone, thus promoting a more physiological load transfer and a more durable fixation.

  • A study was carried out in the Department of Soil Science, DRPCAU, Pusa, Bihar during 2014-15 to evaluate physiological properties of Rhizobium isolated from winged bean, pea, gram, lentil and moong. Production of indole acetic acid (IAA), resistance to antibiotics and tolerance to variable pH are some important key concerns for its adaptability to various soil conditions as inoculants. Rhizobia, in general, followed a similar trend towards pH tolerance in terms of growth (measured as OD) i.e., their growth was higher around neutral pH.

  • The main aim of present study was to evaluate the efficacy of different composite edible coatings comprising olive oil, Aloe vera and sodium alginate as base coatings with antioxidant (ascorbic acid 0.1%) and calcium gluconate (0.5%) as texture enhancer on the postharvest quality attributes of guava cv. „Sardar‟ during winter seasons of 2017 and 2018. After treatment, fruits were kept at ambient temperature of 27-29°C till 15 days and analyzed for various physico-biochemical parameters while the uncoated fruits serve as control.

  • Lichens are long-lived and can be monitored, field conditions permitting, in any season. Many lichens have extensive geographical ranges, allowing study of pollution gradients over large areas. These properties make them useful for spatial and temporal evaluation of pollutant accumulation in the environment. Epiphytic lichens (those that grow on trees or plants) are often best suited to the study of air pollution effects on lichen communities, lichen growth or physiology, and to the study of pollutant loading and distribution.
