  • Lamium is a taxonomically convoluted genus of about 34 species. Within Lamium, the L. garganicum species complex is particularly challenging. Here, based on morphological and molecular studies, Lamium cappadocicum Celep & Karaer sp. nova (Lamiaceae) is separated from L. garganicum and L. bilgilii and described as a new species, and L. garganicum subsp. rectum (= L. garganicum subsp. pulchrum) is resurrected. The new species is only known from the Hasan Mountain (Aksaray) in Central Anatolia, Turkey.

  • Salvia L. is an ideal exemplar to demonstrate prezygotic isolation mechanisms in sympatric populations due to their wellknown staminal lever mechanism. Mechanical, phenological, and ethological isolation mechanisms have been reported among sympatric species of Salvia. However, it has been shown that if closely related species are sympatric and flower at the same time, they can potentially hybridize. In this study, we describe two new hybrid species of Salvia (S. × karamanensis Celep & B.T.Drew, and S. × doganii Celep & B.T.Drew) from Turkey based on morphological and molecular evidence.

  • The relationship between nominal interest rates and inflation has been frequently explored in both its theoretical and empirical dimensions by many scholars. Most of these studies focus on the influence of inflation on interest rates, while others investigate the effect of interest rates on price levels. The relevant literature begins with the well-known theory of Fisher (1930). According to Fisher’s hypothesis, inflation is the main determinant of interest rates, and as the inflation rate increases by one per cent, the rate of interest increases by the same amount.

  • This article analyzes the horizontal productivity spillover effects of foreign ownership on Turkish firms that are among the top 500 industrial enterprises in Turkey. Using a panel of 215 firms over the period 2004-2008, we find that domestic firms benefit from productivity spillovers from foreign-owned firms. However, absorptive capacity does not matter for productivity spillover benefits.

  • The aim of this paper is to analyze empirically the relationship between sectoral Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and macroeconomic variables in the long-run and short-run in Turkey for the period from 2005 to 2016. The cointegration analysis and error correction models are used to test long-run relationship and short-run effects respectively. It is expected that the using of sectoral level data may disentangle the relationship FDI and macroeconomic variables.

  • Apatite fission track (AFT) thermochronology is applied to the Horozköy granitoid, which outcrops within the Bolkar Mountains (south-central Turkey). The region comprises the Niğde Massif to the north, the Inner Tauride Suture Zone, and the Central Taurides to the south. The Niğde Massif and the Central Taurides collided during the Eocene following north-dipping subduction of the Inner Tauride Ocean beneath the Niğde Massif. The Ulukışla Basin formed above this suture zone.
