The objective of this study was to establish a standard experimental model to determine the removal rate constants of wastewater pollutants in subsurface flow–constructed wetlands. This result shows the applicability of the proposed experimental model and procedure to determine the contaminant removal rate constants in constructed wetlands uniformly.

This paper briefly overviews experimental procedure and methods of self-healing studies; and the damage of concrete materials due to drying shrinkage. Microstructure observations such as SEM, ESEM are used as popular methods in self-healing researches; however, they are difficult to be carried out in case of 3D-cracks.

This method is associated with some attractive characteristics such as good selectivity, very short reaction time, high yield of products, cleaner reaction profile,no harmful by-product, cheap and environmental benign catalyst, simple experimental andwork-up procedure. This procedure does not require solvent separation and purification stepssuch as column chromatography.

The present work describes an experimental study on sewage sludge pyrolysis in a Fluidised Bed Reactor(FluBR) and the effect on the pyrolysis liquid product of passing the hot exhaust (pyrolysis) vapours through a Fixed Bed Reactor (FixBR) filled with gamma-alumina (c-Al2O3).

The control properties of biochemical pathways can be described by control coefficients and elasticities, as defined in the framework of metabolic control analysis. The determination of these parameters using the traditional metabolic control analysis relationships is, however, lim-ited by experimental difficulties (e.g. realizing and meas-uring small changes in biological systems) and lack of appropriate mathematical procedures (e.g. when the more practical large changes are made).

The aim of the study was to investigate the crystallization kinetics and solidification behaviour of Fe60Co8Mo5Zr10W2B15 bulk glass forming alloy. The solidification behaviour in near-equilibrium and non-equilibrium cooling conditions was studied. The eutectic and peritectic reactions were found to exist in the solidification sequence of the alloy. The bulk metallic glass formation was achieved by using two methods: quenching from the liquid state and quenching from the semi-state.
