For dairy farmers reduced price of milk, lack of transportation means and lack of veterinary aids were major problems faced during the lockdown. Poultry farmers incurred massive losses due to rumours associated with chicken which caused collapse in demand for poultry products. The data on socioeconomic variables were collected from 90 respondents drawn from 30 SHGs.   • Natural resources are being consumed at an alarming rate, and the capacity of resources and technologies to satisfy food demand for the growing population remains uncertain.   • The study indicated that 46.67 per cent of the farmers belonged to old age group of above 45 years and were illiterate (36.70 %). Majority (51.70 %) of them had dairying and agriculture as their primary occupation and had more than 10 years of farming experience.   • This study was conducted in Karwi block of Chitrakoot district by conducting personal interview with 100 respondents which were selected through random sampling technique. There were 65 percent respondents found in middle age group and observed to be literate (67%), belonging to backward caste (70%), residing in nuclear families (63%).
