In article "Forecast of submarine landslides related to the reactive probability of the fault system in the Southeast Vietnam continental shelf and adjacent areas" the fault’s geometrical parameters in the Southeast Vietnam continental shelf and adjacent areas (such as the location, dip angle and strike angle as well as depth and length) are determined by gravity, seismic data and regional stress fields. For the faults, due to their high internal frictional coefficient, they accumulate more energy under the impact of the regional stress field.

In this study, the H50 reservoir is taken as an example of how fault-bounded prospects are evaluated in Block 05- 1(a). For the case of Than Nong 1B, to meaningfully determine the potential of the structure, the fault geometric analysis is conducted to fully understand the 3D geometry of the structure.

Mechanochemical activation and steam-assisted interzeolite transformation offer a simple, fast and cost-efficient synthesis route to gmelinite (GME) zeolite. The use of faujasite (FAU) as the parent zeolite precursor facilitates the reaction and results in high yields of high-quality GME in less than 20 h under optimized conditions. The accessible porosity and amounts of stacking-faults were determined by N2 physisorption and XRD analysis, respectively.

Understanding the tectonic mechanism generated by the earthquakes and faults is possible only if the preseismic, coseismic and postseismic crustal deformation related to the earthquakes is determined properly. By the analysis of continuous GPS (CGPS) coordinate time series, it is possible to estimate the crustal deformation. Besides, accelerometer records at strong motion stations (SMSs) may support the CGPS-based estimates.

The middle-upper Eocene Kırkgeçit Formation, the fossil content of which is the subject of this study, is deposited in a back-arc basin controlled by block-faulting. The Kırkgeçit basin is interpreted as being formed under an extensional regime related to convergence between the Anatolian plate in the north and the Arabian plate in the south.

: Fluid vents in the Sea of Marmara were discovered and investigated by several studies. In this paper, a numerical model is created for the first time to determine the possible transport mechanism behind those fluid emissions at the seafloor. The finite volume method is used for numerical simulations by implementing a commercial finite volume code, ANSYS-Fluent. The thermal and physical rock properties used in our models are taken from previous studies.

Transtensional faults are well developed in the S Block of the South Asia area, which have an important impact on the hydrocarbon accumulation. However, the transtensional fault structure is very complex. Based on drilling and seismic data interpretation results, faults are divided into three typical types in the Lower Cretaceous, which can help to understand the complex fault system. The main faults are distributed in the NNW-SSE direction and parallel arrangement with dextral strike-slip shear characteristics, which determines the development of the tectonic belt.

The Eastern Anatolian Fault Zone (EAFZ), having a prominent place in the tectonic evolution of the Eastern Mediterranean, is a structural element of tectonic indentor due to the convergence between the African-Arabian plates and the Eurasian Plate. This study investigates the central part of EAFZ between Doğanyol (Malatya) and Çelikhan (Adıyaman). The geometry of the fault and the morphotectonic structures were determined by the field studies. Moreover, fault-slip data are measured according to the fault planes along the deformation zone for paleostress analysis.

In recent years, seismicity has increased considerably in the Aegean Sea region and there have been earthquakes in which people lost their lives. The major earthquakes, Kos Island-Gökova Bay (Mw = 6.6), Lesvos Island-Karaburun (İzmir) (Mw = 6.2) and Samos Island-Aegean Sea (Mw = 6.9) occurred in the Aegean Sea and affected Aegean region strongly. Within the scope of this study, the seismic b-value of these major earthquakes was calculated in order to perform earthquake statistical analysis.

Varto and the surrounding region have important geothermal fields, developing in strike-slip tectonic setting in East Anatolia, which resulted from the collision of the Arabian and Eurasian plates. The main structural elements in the area are the NE-trending sinistral and NW-trending dextral strike-slip fault segments and N-S trending extension zones. In order to determine fault-controlled geothermal circulation, it is very important to fully characterize the structural elements in these complex environments.

Kestanbol geothermal field is located in northwestern Turkey and is one of the highest temperature geothermal fields in the Biga Peninsula. In this study, one geothermal well, two geothermal springs, and two cold springs were monitored for one year in Kestanbol geothermal field to determine hydrogeochemical and isotopic characteristics. Additionally, any possible relationship between seismic activity and variations in the hydrochemistry of geothermal water was investigated.

The morphotectonic features of the TGFZ and the distribution of the epicenters of earthquakes over magnitude 5.0 show that this fault zone remains active today. In this study, the deformation of the TGFZ is determined with high sensitivity using geodetic measurements. To obtain accurate information about the deformation of the TGFZ, 24 GNSS sites and two continuously operating reference stations were constructed in the southern part of the TGFZ. Between 2018 and 2020, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) measurements were made on this network.

This paper uses the infrared technology to investigate the temperature distribution of the 220kV power grid insulator string. The experiments were done in climate chamber to study. Firstly, determining the thermal stability time of the high voltage porcelain insulator called XP-70 type composing of 14 pieces under the tested voltage of 127kV based on the temperature and voltage distribution. And then the temperature distribution along the normal and fault insulator string experiments.

The western termination and total length of the earthquake rupture is still a matter of debate because the surface rupture goes off shore in the Gulf of İzmit after displaying a coseismic displacement of ~5 m. Such a considerable slip implies that the fault rupture must definitely continue some distance westward on the sea floor, but where exactly it terminated is difficult to determine.

The İvriz detachment fault has been determined on the southern border of the Ulukışla basin separating the metamorphic Bolkar Group of the Taurus Mountains and the Paleocene-Lower Eocene Halkapınar formation of basin deposits. The fault dips towards the north and has kinematic indicators (asymmetric grain/grain aggregate porphyroclasts, oblique foliation, and S-C fabrics), suggesting a top-to-the-N-NE sense of shearing.
