The general policy implication is that environmental policies should not be uniform for all countries. Environmental policy must be country‐and polluter‐specific to solve environmental problems faced by a country. A well‐designed environmental policy should reflect the specific needs of a country, considering the country’s level of economic development as well as specific environmental pollutants.

The aim of "Doctoral thesis of Philosophy: Attracting foreign direct investment: a critical analysis of Vietnam's performance" is to provide robust evidence-based analysis and explanations to uncover what drives FDI inflows in Vietnam after having had practically no FDI inflow prior to the launch of its economic reform in the mid-1980s.

Research on the relationship between FDI and economic growth in Binh Dinh province. At the same time, this study also clarifies some issues about FDI absorptive capacity in relationship with economic growth. Based on the research results, the author proposes several policy implications to attract FDI capital and increase its benefits to promote local economic growth.

Saudi Arabia targets diversification policy in the Vision 2030. This study estimates the production, exports, government revenue, investment and employment diversification indices and also finds its determinants. Increasing inflation promotes the production and export diversification and depresses the investment, government revenue and employment diversification. The depreciation policy encourages the government revenue diversification and reduces investment and employment diversification.

Clarifying the main theoretical issues about economic efficiency of FDI in the province to apply to the study of FDI in Vietnam's localities. Proposing solutions to improve the economic efficiency of FDI in Vinh Phuc province by 2025 with scientific bases; thereby providing more scientific basis for local authorities in planning the policy of attracting FDI, renewing the management of FDI enterprises and improving the economic efficiency of FDI in the coming years.

The similarities between Thailand and Vietnam can be seen in the countries’ geographical features, society, cultural proximity, economy, and the bond between the citizens of the two countries. The diplomatic relationship between Thailand and Vietnam was established in 1976 and continues to get stronger. In 1986, Vietnam implemented the “Doi Moi” policy to reform the socialist market economy which paved the way to economic relationship, the legislation on investments, and exposure to foreign investments.
