Feature detection and tracking

We present the method of the HCMUS team pariticipating in Multimodal Person Discovery in Broadcast TV Task at the MediaEval Challenge 2016. There are two main tasks in our method. First we identify a list of potential characters of interest from all video clips. Each potential character is defined as a pair of face track, a sequence of face patches, and a name. We use OCR results and face detection to find potential characters.

The main aim of this work is to detect and track human activity, and classify actions for two publicly available video databases. In this work, a novel approach of feature extraction from video sequence by combining Scale Invariant Feature Transform and optical flow computation are used where shape, gradient and orientation features are also incorporated for robust feature formulation.

The cost matrix for Hungarian algorithm is calculated using the RetinaNet features, bounding box center distances, and intersection of unions of bounding boxes. We interpolate the missing detections in the last step. The proposed method yield 43.2 MOTA for MOT16 benchmark.

Video surveillance is emerging research field of intelligent transport systems. This paper presents some techniques which use machine learning and computer vision in vehicles detection and tracking. Firstly the machine learning approaches using Haar-like features and Ada-Boost algorithm for vehicle detection are presented. Secondly approaches to detect vehicles using the background subtraction method based on Gaussian Mixture Model and to track vehicles using optical flow and multiple Kalman filters were given.

Inspired by the idea of AVCSR, which has combined visual features with audio features to increase the accuracy in noisy environments, we use AdaBoost algorithm and Kalman filter for the face and lip detectors. Our result shows that the system can detect and track mouth motion in real time. It is a critical point that encourages more researches in the visual tracking and voice recognition fields.

The applications of underwater vehicles have shown a dramatic increase in recent years, such as, mines clearing operation, feature tracking, cable or pipeline tracking and deep ocean exploration. According to different applications, the mechanical and electrical configuration and shape of an underwater vehicle are different. For instance, manipulators are necessary when doing mines clearing operation or some other tasks which need to deal with environment.

The AS1110 uses the serial data I/O lines for error-information read back so no additional PCB tracks are needed for LED error diagnostics. The AS1110 features 16 regulated ports that provide constant current for driving LEDs within a wide range of forward voltage variations.
