Value added healthy instant foods are the requirements of modern society and also are becoming popular day by day. These foods are convenient to use and time saving. Dosa is a popular vegetarian fermented South Indian breakfast food item made from parboiled rice, black gram dhal, fenugreek seeds, edible oil and salt. In the present study the attempts were made to standardize instant kodo millet dosa mix by incorporation of kodo millet flours with parboiled rice at different incorporation levels at 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and control 100% with rice flour.

Fenugreek is one of the major and important spices grown in India. Application of commercial antioxidants and nutrients for seed enhancement is expensive and not easily accessible by the farmers. The hereby study was conducted in a completely randomized design with four replications in controlled conditions at Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P) during 2018-2020.

In India and other countries of the Mediterranean region, it is primarily used as a spice crop (Acharya et al., 2008) to the flavour and nutritive value of food. Its fresh tender leaves and stems are consumed as curried vegetable. Commercially, it has high economic value as food, fodder and medicine. For medicinal and cosmetic purpose, its leaf and seed is used to prepare extract and powder. The leaves both fresh and dried are used in meat curries and several vegetable dishes.

Effect of fenugreek seed supplementation on milk yield and its composition of crossbred dairy cattle
Effect of fenugreek seed supplementation on milk yield and its composition were studied using twelve crossbred dairy cattle. While six cows were supplemented with soaked fenugreek seed, the rest were treated as control. The study period comprises of 30 days of pre-supplementation, 60 days of supplementation and 30 days of post-supplementation periods.

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L) is a predominantly rabi seed spices crop of Rajasthan. In Rajasthan it is grown in 157 thousand ha area with production of 190.36 thousand tones with productivity of 1212 Kg. /ha. One of the major constraints of its low productivity is non adoption of improved technologies. To demonstrate this 65 Front line demonstrations (FLDs) were organized by KVK, Banswara between 2013-14 and 2016-17 under tribal sub plan of ICAR- NRCSS, Tabiji Ajmer.

Front line demonstrations on yield enhancement of fenugreek variety AFg-3 were conducted at different villages of Chittorgarh and Udaipur districts during 2018-19. A total of 60 front line demonstrations were conducted on fenugreek in 12 ha by the active participation of the farmers with the objective of improved technologies of fenugreek production potentials. In the demonstration fields, seed of improved variety (AFg-3)along with all improved packages of practices of fenugreek were applied.

Some physical and mechanical properties of fenugreek seeds and plant were evaluated. The average length, width, thickness and geometric mean diameter of fenugreek seed were 3.47 mm, 2.53 mm, 1.61mm and 2.41 mm, respectively. The observed mean value of fenugreek plant for length, width and stalk diameter was 593.12 mm, 118.16 mm and 2.48 mm, respectively.

Depth of sowing for seed spices are kept very shallow (1 to 3cm). Therefore, furrow openers commonly used in seed drills or planter are not very well suited for sowing of seed spices. Some of the spices seed e.g. cumin, coriander and fenugreek are highly sensitive to germination, if proper depth of sowing is not maintained. Even a small layer of soil over the seed affects the germination.

This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of fenugreek plant on CCL4 –induced liver injury by following the hematological and biochemical parameters. To achieve this purpose forty male albino rats were used and divided to four groups. The first group represented control group which received normal diet and intraperitoneal injection with oil (0.5ml/kg). The second group represented the CCL (1ml/kg) model. The third group received 200 mg/kg fenugreek leaves extract by gavage.

Fourty genotypes of fenugreek were grown at College Farm, N. M. College of Agriculture, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari during Rabi 2015-16. Grouping of the genotypes was carried-out by following Tocher's method (Rao, 1952). The D2 analysis indicated presence of ample genetic diversity among the genotypes studied, which were grouped into 6 clusters. The maximum inter-cluster distance was observed between cluster-VI and V followed by cluster-VI and V. The minimum inter-cluster distance was depicted between cluster-V and IV.

Among seven bio-pesticides evaluated against A. craccivora on fenugreek, azadirachtin 0.0006%, neem oil 0.3% and garlic bulb extract 3% were found most effective in suppressing the aphid population. Maximum seed yield was registered in plots treated with azadirachtin followed by neem oil and garlic bulb extract. The maximum net realization was obtain in the treatment of azadirachtin and maximum ICBR was registered in neem oil 0.3%.

Irrigation and nutrients are most prerequisite factors for crop growth and development. Any imbalance in supply of water or nutrients may leads to poor crop performance and lower production. Therefore there is need to optimize irrigation and fertigation practices to sustain the fenugreek growth, yield and also better seed quality. In the present study drip irrigation at three levels (I1 - 25 % CPE, I2- 50 % CPE and I3 - 75 % CPE) and fertigation at four levels (F1 - 25 % RDF, F2 - 50 % RDF, F3 – 75% RDF and F4 - 100 % RDF) were studied in split plot design with three replications.

Agriculture is one of the significant contributors to the Indian economy. Growing a good crop depends on multiple factors like soil condition, climatic condition, rainfall, selection of good variety etc. and selection of crop plays a very important role in getting a good return. India has a unique position as a major supplier of seed spices in the international trade. Some major seed spices are Cumin, Coriander, Fennel and Fenugreek and minor seed spices are Ajwain, Nigella, Aniseed, Dill, Caraway, and Celery.
