The hot-spots of transmission of food-borne zoonotic trematodes in northern Vietnam have been known as the integrated fish-livestock (VAC- Garden, Fish pond, Poultry shed) ponds. A crosssectional study was conducted in Ha Noi capital and Yen Bai province to investigate the trematode larval infections (cercariae) in freshwater snails in these areas.

This study evaluates the Black Sea anchovy population infected by parasitic Ascaridoid Nematode larva in the Southern Black Sea. It assesses the larva’s effect on fish body condition, energy stored in the body, and anchovy growth. For this, anchovies sampled on July 10–31, 2018, from 30 different stations were examined, and 11.8% of the 825 anchovies were found infected. The observed infection rate was higher on the western side of the study area, suggesting that this rate may be used as a biomarker for the western stock.

In this study, we investigated whether osteoporosis-like phenotype could be induced in the transgenic larvae when heat-shock was applied at earlier time points, namely when larvae were at 1,2,3,4,5, or 6 dpf. The obtained results show that heat-shocks from the time point of 3 dpf onwards resulted in osteoporosis-like phenotype, while heat-shock at 1 or 2 dpf did not affect mineralized bone matrix in 11 dpf larvae.

The intensive culture of larvae exposes them to considerable stressors of chemical, physical and biological nature and in addition, some of these stressors can occur in an intermittent manner or as pulses, which may further amplify their negative effects. Therefore, the recognition of theses stress sources, and their mitigation are critical in the successful operation of hatchery.

There is a gap in knowledge regarding the cardiovascular system in fish conjoined twins, and regarding the cardiovascular morphogenesis of conjoined twins in general. We examined the cardiovascular system in a pair of fully developed ventrally conjoined salmonid twins (45.5 g body weight), and the arrangement of the blood vessels during early development in ventrally conjoined yolk sac larvae salmonid twins (

This article analyzes the synthesis of the Tenebrio molitor protein (Coleoptera: Tenebrio nidae) belonging to a feed insect, depending on its nutrient content. Differences in protein synthesis by Tenebrio molitor larvae were shown when wheat bran and flour from the macrophytes Lemna minor and Azolla carolina were added. In particular, it was noted that TMO-2 and TMO-6 T.molitor F6 larvae are synthesized on average 31.02% protein in wheat bran, 38.13% in duckweed and 30.87% in azole.

Root-knot nematode (RKN), Meloidogyne incognita considered as destructive pathogen to eggplant. Even though the chemical nematicides the effective option, more safety biological control methods are urgently required. Experiments were conducted to study the nematicidal potential of oleander (Nerium oleander) and fish waste (FW) in management of root-knot nematodes Meloidogyne incognita. Three concentrations of oleander dry Leaves(ODL),oleander fresh leaves(OFL) and fish waste(FW) were tested on egg hatching, larvae mortality and nematode management under greenhouse conditions.

This study was conducted to evaluate the replacement of fishmeal by black soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens) (BSF) meal, frozen beefheart, and commercial pellet on growth performance, survival rate, and feed utilization of discus fish (Symphysodon sp.). Discus juveniles were graded into small, medium and large size groups as block in a completely randomized block design.

The Atlantic little tunny, Euthynnus alletteratus, is widely distributed in temperate and tropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Black and Mediterranean Seas. In this study, wild-caught little tunny from Egypt, were found to be naturally infected with trypanorhyncha metacestodes, and the overall prevalence rate of infection was 38.7%. The blastocysts were either loosely attached to the mesentery of infected fish, or firmly attached and deeply embedded within the hepatic parenchyma.

The teleost fish medaka (Oryzias latipes) is currently used by laboratories worldwide as a model for many human diseases, including bone diseases. Our research group focuses on a medaka model for osteoporosis. To characterize the bone indexes of diseased animals, the bone development indexes of healthy wild-type fish are required for comparative analysis. Thus, this study examined the developmental and bone development indexes of wild-type medaka larvae at 11 and 16 days of age, the two developmental stages selected for the analysis of diseased patterns in osteoporosis-induced animals.

Silver-biddy (Gerreidae: Gerres) are commercially important euryhaline fishes in coastal waters; however, information about their distribution during early stages in estuarine environments is poorly known. The present study aims to elucidate the habitat utilization of two species of the family, Gerres japonicus and G. limbatus as larvae and juveniles based on monthly collections from 2013 to 2015 in the Tien Yen estuary, northern Vietnam.

This study was carried out at DSI-Gölköy Fish Production Station in Bolu and lasted for 350 days. Food consumption (FC) and feed conversion ratios (FCR) in Abant and rainbow trout in pond culture were compared. Abant trout larvae obtained from eggs of wild Abant trout broodstocks in Lake Abant and rainbow trout larvae obtained from eggs of the cultured broodstocks in Gölköy Fish Production Station were used in this study.
